Today’s web represents data in the form of HTML/XML which doesn’t provide semantic relationships among resources on the web. To transform current web data into semantic web there is a big challenge to generate OWL form of data. It is also challenging task for developers to understand ontologies and construct new ontologies in terms of time, efforts, maintenance, domain specific knowledge and skills. Paper represents an algorithm to build ontology data from the basic knowledge of domain application in terms of classes, properties, attributes etc.

There are number of inference engines like Pellet, FaCT++, Hermit, RacerPro, KaON2, FOWL and BaseVISor. Some of them are reviewed and tested for few prebuilt ontologies. Paper presents a performance evaluation and comparison of semantic reasoner for ontology of Health and Anatomy domain. Reasoners are characterized based on reasoning method, reasoning algorithm, computational complexity, classification, scalability, query and rule support.

IoT comprises various kinds of objects, machines, and humans that can interact with each other using various communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification), Bluetooth, NFC (Near-Field Communication), etc. IoT devices need interoperability and communication with each other. In IoT, synchronization is a method of adjusting the internal clock of a device with the clocks of other devices in the network. Time synchronization is required among IoT devices and applications for better communication and resource availability, ordering of events, proper allocation of available resources, and for mutual exclusion. Many real-time applications such as banking systems, reservation systems that are implemented on distributed systems, it is important to execute each transaction/event in an ordered manner. Ordering of events is essential for proper allocation of available resources and mutual allocation. This can be implemented using clock synchronization. The paper presents a comparative study of clock synchronization algorithms in distributed systems. The paper also discusses time protocol such as Network Time Protocol and Simple Network Time Protocol.
