*wanders down the hallway towards the cafeteria... rounds a corner and runs smack into Sam*

Sam! He-ey! Sorry about that, I don't always see everything from down here.

*reaches out, steadies her, grins*

I wasn't paying much attention either, I guess.

*blushes ever so slightly*

Where are you headed? I'm going to get another mug of coffee. *holds up a thermos* I think Daniel stole my last cup when he stopped by.

*lets her go after a bit too long of a minute*

Great minds think alike. I was on the way to the cafeteria for some coffee and maybe jello, myself.

Hmm, hoping for blue?

*smirks*

Would you like some company? I don't think I can look at another med report for at least half an hour.

Always the blue. *grins*

Company sounds great. I know I need the break.

*falls into step beside Sam*

What has SG-1 been up to lately, you've been pretty scarce from the infirmary. Though, with Daniel that's a good thing, but with you not so much, and Colonel O'Neill has been blissfully absent. Is there some big project going on or is it just the slow season for missions?

Not so much slow as just...nice planets? We haven't been in a gun fight in weeks. I can't say that's a bad thing.

Definately not a bad thing. We wouldn't want to have any of our flagship team injured. Then I might actually have to do some work.

*laughs and glances up at Sam*

Don't suppose there's any way to convince the General to let me tag along for a trip, I'm dying to take a vacation...

*smiles back at her, opening the cafeteria door as they get there*

I can see what I can do. I'm sure he wouldn't mind too much.

I'd completely understand if he didn't want to risk the CMO though, so it's no big deal.

*walks through door*

Thank you. So, nice planets, nothing terribly exciting, what keeps your interest these days? Cassie has been asking about you.

I've got a piece of technology we picked up that I'm trying to figure out. It's not like anything we've seen before.

*flash of guilt*

I should come by and see her then.

She was disappointed that you missed the BBQ last weekend, but I assured her that you would only miss it if there was something very important that you were working on. So, whether you were or not, tell Cassie you were. I've been trying to get her to be more computer friendly lately. Perhaps you could show her some cool stuff to get her interest piqued.

*wry smile*

My brother called. I'm afraid it..threw me. I hadn't spoken to him since Dad...

I just needed some time alone. Went to the cemetery.

*reaches out and lightly touches Sam's arm*

Hey, I told her if you weren't there it was important, and obviously it was. She knows you love her and she understands that things come up. Don't worry about it. Just means that you'll have to come see her some other time. And you know that if you ever need to talk, I'm here, right?

*moves hand to fill up thermos*

*smiles a little, watching her*

I know. It wasn't...nothing tragic. No great drama. He just called. That was an event in and of itself lately.

*quiet for a minute, then fills her cup after Janet*

We should go do something. The three of us.

*sits down at a table in the corner*

Oh definately. She'd love that. We mi... she misses having you around. I think you're overdue for a game of chess. What did you have in mind?

*sits across from her*

It's still too cold to do much outside, but. I don't know? Maybe we could go out to dinner. Maybe to an arcade or lasser tag or something?

Hmm, there is this new Thai place that she's been asking me to take her. And I'm always in the mood to kick your ass at laser tag. I might be a doctor, but I know how to use a gun, thank you very much.

*takes a tentative sip, checking the temperature*

Mmmmm, can't beat government coffee.

*grins*

*chuckles, sipping hers*

It'll wake you up, for sure.

Thai sounds good. And I know you can use a gun. I'll just remind you, so do I.

Well then, I suppose we must. I have to give you a good ass kicking! And hopefully teach Cassie a thing or two in the process.

*arches an eyebrow, grins*

An ass kicking? Those are fighting words, Janet.

You better believe it.

*winks and grins more*

So now that we've decided to run around and act like men in our free time, when should we try to do this? I think Cassie has a test on Monday, so Sunday is out. I'll ask her if she's got plans for Saturday though. Is that good for you?

Saturday is perfect for me. I think we're going on a mission Thursday somewhere, but we'll easily be back by then.

You better be back, and not in my infirmary for any long periods of time either. I'll tell Colonel O'Neill he'd better return you in one piece, otherwise he'll be dealing with me and the wrath of a very upset teenager.

*thoughtful sigh*

Yeah, definately wouldn't want to be him.
