...and i'll just say my secret magic word...'s Journal (original) (raw)

Hmmm, seems to be pretty quiet 'round here lately :(

Anyway, I'm new :D

I lived in England until 2000, when I moved to Australia age 7, so I've got a bit of a best-of-both-worlds thing going on. British kid's shows have more sentimental value, I guess. I wasn't so huge on Aussie cartoons.

Just wondering if anyone remembers these:

-The Sooty Show (ok, from what I've seen of the comm so far, quite a few people remember Sooty, but I love it anyway. Matthewww)
-Wizadora
-The Magic Roundabout (This was a cracktastic show from like, the 70's, and it was originally French, but when the animations were shipped over to the UK, they didn't send the scripts, so they basically made up the stories. So they were extremely weird. Observe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caIS7eYfpMA)
-The Wombles! :D
-Rosie and Jim! Two ragdoll puppets that live on a houseboat with a duck and a paedophile. Ok, so that last bit isn't necessarily true, but after finding a clip on YouTube of the intro, something seemed suss. Something I apparently hadn't noticed as a five year old.

There's another show that I can't remember the name of. I don't think I liked it at first, but it grew on me. It was some woman (it was live action btw) who lived on a farm, and she had a plane. I think in the introduction she flew around in her plane for a bit and did farmwork, and then the show began. That's extremely vague, but I remember watching it before school.

There are probably more, but that's all I can remember for now.
