Doctor Who - The Bells of Saint John (original) (raw)

I have short, bullet point review of the latest episode of Doctor Who!

• Moffat has worked his way through statues and bad masonry and books and now it's time for wi-fi. Okay, why not. It's ubiquitous enough that you can't avoid it easily and it would make a great way to control people.

• Clara is adorable as usual AND she managed to live past the end of the episode. I was rather wondering if we were going to get a reboot each time after the last two. I do wonder if she'll keep her mad computer skills now that she has been downloaded again!

• I don't care even a little about the big MYSTERY surrounding her. Mystery is boring and has been done more than once by Moffat - give me character. However, it does seem as though Eleven loves a mystery since that is how he picks his companions.

• I approve of the new coat. A MUCH BETTER look for him. And I liked the specs as well! It's important to keep track of these things. :)

• Nice callback to the antigravity Olympics first mentioned by Ten in Tooth and Claw.

• I completely didn't see the fake Doctor coming though I should have! There he was after all, how could Eleven resist? Why enter the bad guy's lair when you can do it remotely? And while providing incentive at the same time.

• I also had NO IDEA that the villain from the Christmas episode was going to come back! Is he after Clara specifically? Or after the Doctor?

• And factory defaults? Spooky. Little girl Kizlet was freaky.
