Throughout the many changes in the water industry, Cholderton & District Water Company has remained an independent, privately owned enterprise. For 30 years, we were the smallest of the statutory water undertakings providing a public water supply. In May 2018 - following representations to Ofwat (the industry’s economic regulator) - Cholderton & District Water Company became a private water supply. At the same time, the Cholderton Estate Trust acquired a majority and controlling shareholding in the company.
Water Network
Cholderton & District Water Company today has two boreholes, five active
service reservoirs and a distribution network that encompasses some
45 kilometres of water supply pipe. The system is maintained by our own staff.
