Hi,Hope all is going well. I just wanted to let everyone know about a recently launched website that may be of interest called Piano Lessons with Master Teachers. If you click the black and white photograph on the home page, it will take you to a collection interviews with concert pianists from the early 1900's, such as Paderewski and Ernest Schelling. It's a very good read, and it's all free material. I hope it can be a good resource for some of the community members.Take care,Eugene

[mood** |contemplativecontemplative]Anybody home?I thought this community needed a little post, so here's a poem about Chopin by my favorite poet, Alfred Noyes. It makes me so sad. Note the references to George Sand's novel (the name of which I can't remember) where Chopin was ridiculed in the form of "Prince Karol". Noyes knew his stuff. If there are any typos, blame me before Noyes, for typing it up wrong.( The Death of Chopin, by Alfred NoyesCollapse )**

[music |Scherzo No. 2 - Chopin/Ashkenazy]I'm curious about the attitudes of this community, so I have a little survey/questionnaire/whatever.1. Who do you think plays Chopin best out of the major pianists?2. Which of Chopin's ballades is your favourite?3. Which of Chopin's scherzos is your favourite?4. Do you prefer to play or listen to Chopin?5. What was the first thing you heard by Chopin?

Another instrument but the same magic? [Dec. 18th, 2006|11:36 pm]Chopin or Bust
[Current Location |Basement, still] [mood annoyedannoyed] [music Chopin - Mazurka In E Minor Op. 17 No. 2]Hi, I'm new to this community but my love for Frédéric Chopin is definitely not. My question is the following;I have been playing the piano for over ten years and I've recently started playing violin so I could play along with my Mother who plays the piano as well. I was looking through all the Chopin music sheets I could find at my usual music shop and I couldn't find ANYTHING for violin and piano.Anyone has suggestion to where I could find sheets for piano and violin duets by Chopin?
