In these patients, atypical locations and a chronic course of the disease are more frequent. Two AIDS patients with laryngeal leishmaniasis are reported. These cases are believed to be the first of this type documented in the literature. The possible pathogenic mechanisms of the disease are discussed. Infection withLeishmania donovani may eventually be described for every organ containing phagocytic cells.
