In The Brain: weird
In The Deck: Mos Def - Shinjiro/Black Star - Another World
this whole nothing to do in the late/early hours is very uncool.
My own fault for procrastinating about going to the library i guess... tomorrow i gotta go down to the bank and look at alternative credit options (if there are any...) and send some $ home so that i can have my walkman sent up...
clay's pestering me about money for the carpets in the apartment... he never seems to understand that i can't just phone home and get money when I come up short. I'd like to pay them off just as much as him, if not more. However without that Visa it's not happening until the end of the month unless something magical happens.
ran into erica on sunday night walking back from 7-11. she was packing her stuff up to leave for the summer, which sucks but i figured she would be... at least now i live close enough that i can take her up on the offer to come hang out without having to go across town to do it. she's good peoples to hang out with.
didn't do too much today... cut some grass, watered the garden... didn't get a lot of sleep last night... can't even recall how i spent most of the day... went to the grocery store tonight and picked up a few things... bread, bananas, some ground beef, some stuff for sandwiches... was too lazy to walk down for a slurpee even, suprising myself.
came home... watched... something on TV... maybe it was CSI?
doing laundry now while listening to black star and browsing the web...
excited about the NHL draft this weekend because my Penguins pick #3... gotta be excited about something for my team, since 1) we've had to basically auction off most of our top talent and 2) the team might move or fold due to financial problems thanks to an old-ass arena...
this black star compilation makes me want a new album from them...
back to browsing hip-hop sites...

In The Brain: slightly less forlorn
In The Deck: Ras Kass - Home Sweet Home
i <3 VintageVibeVideo.
I got Nate & Snoop "Never Leave Me Alone" and then TQ "Westside"... now its back to straight MuchVibe and I get Eminem "Sing For The Moment"... good stuff.
i was about to toss on a cd, but won't need to if this keeps up...
Man, without an X-Box here i really need to get down to the library and get some books, because nights when I'm at home I'm gonna go out of my gourd otherwise...
Luckily Movie Central blessed me with The Fellowship Of The Ring...
well the streak had to end sooner or later... Juvenile just came on, time to cue up a cd.
I'm not sure if its an official release or a bootleg (I'm guessing bootleg) but Alchemist - "The Alchemix" is pretty dope. Chock full of stuff like "Home Sweet Home, "Top Prospects", "The Platform", "Keep It Thoro" etc...
time to make mixtapes in anticipation of my walkmans arrival...
*goes into the lab*

In The Brain: forlorn
In The Deck: Joe Budden - Pump It Up
no... just the worst of times...
RIP for my fallen X-box, which I had to sell today for a wackishly low sum... then to find out later that chris would've bought it for more... too bad he's out of town.
Screw you Visa, and you too fate!

today was a very lazy day...
Jun. 13th, 2003 | 05:36 pm
In The Brain: hungry
In The Deck: Justin Timberlake - Still On My Brain/Dance With Me
I woke up at around 8 for no apparent reason... snoozed until 10:30... when i decided not to get up for either class nor basketball... kinda wish i would've went and played ball, but i was pretty beat.
dragged my ass out of bed around 1 PM... pondered getting some things done but ended up just sitting around playing Tiger Woods 2003... which I really should take back since I rented it like 10 days ago...
Most constructive thing I've done so far today... probably washing my dishes, which is pretty sad. It's beautiful out today, so I will probably find *something* to do outside this evening... everyone's busy or gone though, so I'll have to entertain myself.
With the passing of my Shockwave Panasonic Discman, my mom is going to send my Shockwave Panasonic Walkman down to me, which was still sitting back home with various stuff I didn't think I'd need... so I shall return to the long-lost days of tape-making for a few weeks.
The Visa people are being ass, which doesn't really suprise me. I've gotta go down there and talk to them, because somewhere between Point A (me applying) and Point B (me getting my Visa in the mail) they decided to wander over to point W (as in What the fuck, because apparently you have to be a working student to apply for a student Visa...) Which in turn means that I may have to put my beloved X-Box in hock for a few weeks so that I can pay the horrendous bill from our old apartment (we owe 310.something to replace the carpeting in the living/dining rooms) since we're supposed to have that paid by the end of next week... Hopefully I can find a reputable pawn shop where I can a) get a good price and b) actually come back to find my shit still there...
Whatever, I'll handle that this weekend...
Oh yes... I was going to write an entry earlier in the week about my hair... normally it's pretty average looking... brown, difficult to manage if it grows past about 4 inches... so on Monday I was cutting it short while watching Teletoon, more specifically Yogi Bear... and I was shaving the sides down, and laughed at something and somehow I managed to shave a strip off the front... now there's not much I could do at this point other than shave the rest of it off... so here i sit with about 2/3 of an inch of hair left... by far the shortest it's ever been. I've gotta say it feels great for summer, but i need to buy a headband for basketball because sweat in the eyes is murder
Time to go make some dinner... I'm starving.

it's been a long time...
Jun. 4th, 2003 | 01:48 pm
In The Brain: good
In The Deck: Pharcyde - Somethin' That Means Somethin'
well, not really... only about a week. but still.
internet/cable got hooked up this morning... im quite pleased... i've got more channels than i know what to do with for a while (movie channels!) and no more trucking to the school just to use the net... the Sasktel guy who set it up also managed to fix my TV (which has been blurry forever... or at least since 1999) by simply fiddling with some switch on the back that i'd never seen before and isn't in the manual... apparently very few TVs have them, but this "focus knob" now allows me to watch TV/play games with good resolution, as opposed to the blurtastic stuff i'm used to.
anyways... on to other matters
all moved in to my new pad, have been since last tuesday when clay helped me move everything... the big stuff was a pain in the ass... next time im just selling my bed/cpu desk/couch. still need someone to swing by and help my put the door back on properly... tis not a one person job. The place is nice... much nicer than I thought when I first saw it mid-may. Good amounts of fresh air and at least some level of natural light... lots of space for just me... nice big backyard i can use whenever i want... im digging it... still trying to figure out where to put everything... i need to get a couple of nice long aux cables, so i can keep my stereo where i want it and still have it hooked up to my CPU and TV...
RIP my Panasonic Shockwave Discman :( After 4 years of loyal service it was knocked out of commission (possibly for good) at Superstore on Sunday. I went to move something of mine so another customer could grab an item totally unaware that my headphones cord was tangled in said bag... discman flew across Superstore lobby... i'm pretty sure the majority of it is okay, but the spring-loaded mechanism in the middle that holds the cd in place is broken.. so i'll have to see what that'll cost to fix... may end up getting a new discman (mp3 style) instead, depending on the cost...
have to take my Visa application back to my bank tomorrow... been needing a new CC since i let my Royal Bank Visa expire... thank goodness for Student Visas....
gonna need it since i forgot to buy one of my textbooks for this coming term...
washing dishes by hand is time consuming... i forgot how long it takes... of course, i'm also switching between doing dishes and writing this...
Trying to help Clay a bit with ideas for Steph's birthday (tomorrow).. he has stuff planned but only if the weather holds, and this being saskatchewan, that's unlikely... so we're trying to find some non-outdoor stuff.
Also... I ten pin bowled for the first time ever on the weekend... what can I saw, I grew up in a five pin town. It was cool even though me, chris and scottie lost to girls :o (hey, there was 4 of them)
chris even gave me an excuse to clean all the cards out of my wallet by hurling it at scottie, thus scattering them to the four winds...
off to go help Clay shop for a b-day gift for aformentioned young lady...

packing oh so slowly...
May. 24th, 2003 | 04:17 pm
In The Brain: hot
In The Deck: Bllackalicious & Chali 2na - 4000 Miles
i've done a lot more nothing than packing today... watched The Hunt For Red October cause it was on Bravo...
should be able to get my packing done though, i figure i've got a solid 7 hours of work and then im done until it gets moved... which is now going to be monday.
its fucking hot out... i had to turn on the AC. i wanna go take a walk tonight (summer nights rule for wandering by the river...) but i gotta actually make a dent in this packing first...
other things of note:
got the new Black Eyed Peas album Elephunk.. skimmed through once and it seemed decent, need to give extended listen while i pack.
i think i've officially stopped enjoying nachos... made some today and blaaaaah. i wish i'd bought fruit... might have to go back to le store later....
gotta get packing...
