Confidential VM pricing

Confidential VM incurs additional costs on top of Compute Engine pricing. For full details on Compute Engine pricing, see All pricing.

Using Confidential VM does not affect contractual discounts that are applied to underlying Compute Engine services.

For Compute Engine, disk size, machine type memory, and network usage are calculated in JEDEC binary gigabytes (GB), or IEC gibibytes (GiB), where 1 GiB is 230 bytes. Similarly, 1 TiB is 240 bytes, or 1024 JEDEC GBs.

Confidential VM incurs additional flat per-vCPU and per-GB costs, which vary depending on whether a Confidential VM instance is on demand or preemptible, and what Confidential Computing technology is used.

AMD SEV pricing

Confidential computing with GPUs pricing

Accelerator-optimized Confidential VM instances

Accelerator-optimized Confidential VM instances with GPUs incur Compute Engine charges for attached GPUs, predefined vCPU, memory, and bundled Local SSD storage (if applicable) of the corresponding accelerator-optimized VM instance, as mentioned in Accelerator-optimized pricing.

In addition, accelerator-optimized Confidential VM instances incur additional costs on top of Compute Engine Accelerator-optimized VM pricing. The total additional cost of confidential computing when running accelerator-optimized confidential VM instances is shown in the following table. These additional charges are not eligible for sustained use discounts or flexible committed use discounts.

Note: Confidential Computing charges for G4 VM instances are currently available at no charge during the Preview period. The pricing information detailed below will take effect upon General Availability (GA) launch.

Software License for NVIDIA Confidential Computing

Using NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 GPUs with Confidential G4 VM instances (In preview) automatically incurs a license fee for NVIDIA Confidential Computing software and services, in addition to the Confidential Computing charges above. This fee is not eligible for discounts, and is as follows:

Note: License fees for Confidential Computing on G4 VM instances using NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 GPUs are currently not charged during the Preview period. The pricing information detailed below will take effect upon General Availability (GA) launch.

For Autopilot workloads that use a node-based billing model, you are charged based on Confidential VM pricing on top of GKE Autopilot pricing.
