Recommender C++ Client Library (original) (raw)
Recommender C++ Client Library
An idiomatic C++ client library for Recommender, a service on Google Cloud that provides usage recommendations and insights for Cloud products and services.
While this library is GA, please note Google Cloud C++ client libraries do not follow Semantic Versioning.
Quickstart
The following shows the code that you'll run in the google/cloud/recommender/quickstart/ directory, which should give you a taste of the Recommender C++ client library API.
#include "google/cloud/recommender/v1/recommender_client.h"
#include "google/cloud/location.h"
#include <iostream>
int main(int argc, char* argv[]) try {
if (argc != 3) {
std::cerr << "Usage: " << argv[0] << " project-id location-id\n";
return 1;
}
auto const location = google:☁️:Location(argv[1], argv[2]);
namespace recommender = ::google:☁️:recommender_v1;
auto client =
recommender::RecommenderClient(recommender::MakeRecommenderConnection());
// For additional recommenders see:
// https://cloud.google.com/recommender/docs/recommenders#recommenders
auto const parent =
location.FullName() +
"/recommenders/google.compute.instance.MachineTypeRecommender";
for (auto r : client.ListRecommendations(parent)) {
if (!r) throw std::move(r).status();
std::cout << r->DebugString() << "\n";
}
return 0;
} catch (google:☁️:Status const& status) {
std::cerr << "google:☁️:Status thrown: " << status << "\n";
return 1;
}
Main classes
The main class in this library is recommender_v1::RecommenderClient. All RPCs are exposed as member functions of this class. Other classes provide helpers, configuration parameters, and infrastructure to mock recommender_v1::RecommenderClient when testing your application.
