aka: Anyone know how to do the "Belle Journée" dance from Lac du Bois? It's not one of the most popular, but in return I can explain almost any of the other LdB dances, all but 2 Mori no ike dances, or any I-day dance (including the dance from 2003 that was so odd it faded into obscurity).

japanese song Hello fellow CLV-ers. I have a question about one of the songs Mori No Ike uses for a line dance. Who sings, and what is the title of the song about aliens? I think it may be called "U-FO", but honestly have no idea. If anyone could tell me, that would totally rock my world.
Thank you in advance!

Hello, I'm trying to apply to be a junior counselor at Lac du Bois this summer. Does anyone know what the timing is like? My schedule is sort of crazy, so I wanted to know if it's possible to choose the sessions you work or if you have to commit to the entire summer or half the summer.
Thanks!

Anyone here with a paid WAYN account? so very off-topic but i'm kinda desperate now. i'll be erasing this one in 3 days if there's no answer, no probs.
I NEED HELP!
I'm trying to locate someone in there, but since I can't afford a paid account (cannot use PayPal, outside US), my search options are very limited; those with paid accounts have the full search options. If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
HELP, PLEASE?? :(

I'm Debating! Hello. My name is Elizabeth, and I'm a 13 year old girl planning to go to either "Les Voyageurs" or "Sen Lin Hu." My sister went to "Lac Du Bois" in Hackensack for two weeks from winning a full scholarship, and my brother went to the Swedish camp (if any of you went there, he's "Vilgot" the TALL one) this past summer.
For either one, I'm planning to go for four weeks (for credit). I've taken about a year and a half of French but I have a private tutor so it would be equivalent to about my 6th semester in high school French. I've never studied Chinese before.
Can any of you who went to one of these previously tell me about what they're like? How many four weekers would accompany me? Are there more boys or girls? How are the living conditions? I do not mind living in camps or going to the bathroom outdoors or what they call a "rustic campsite." I visited the campsite of Sen Lin Hu, and although it might be rundown compared to the Swedish village, and I was unimpressed, it's the language and the friends and the fun time I'm concerned about. :)
Oh, and if any of you can reccommend a certain session that would be great!
Thank you very much! It is just about certain that I will go and I'm so excited! I'm more strongly opinionated on Les Voyageurs, as, I'm absolutely OBSESSED with French!

CLV-speak/linguistic creativity I'm doing a college paper on linguistic creativity among language learners, among other things, and am looking for examples.
What are some words/phrases invented and used only at CLV?
They can be Japanglish/Franglais/etc., multilingual sentences, whatever.
Not things that counselors teach you to say like "Sooji no KAMI-samaaaaaa...” (Japanese) or "raconte-nous une histoire ce soir" (French); things counselors or villagers make up that aren't "real" Chinese/Swedish/German/etc.
If you know, I'd like to know whether they were invented by villagers or counselors. Either way, I want to hear them.
If they're in a language other than French, Japanese, or Spanish, I'll need a more detailed explanation because I don't speak any other CLV languages.
Examples from Mori no ike: ピ乳 (pi-nyuu)、ブル乳 (buruu-nyuu)、"daijobs" rather than 大丈夫 (daijoobu)
Examples from Lac du Bois (Hackensack): faire le wipey-wipey, "I'm just blague-ing you" (blague=joke)
Anything you can remember will help me a lot!

Question... My friends and I have a question. Where can you find Amadeaus? (I'm probably not spelling it right.) My friend and I went to ELDB second half and my other friend went to the same session but at Waldsee. Does anyone know how to find it?

Hallo!
I'm brand new here, I've gone to Skogfjorden for two summers, and I'm going back next year too. :)
In 2005 I was Inga, and in 2006 I was Ingvild. I was in Molde both times, WHOO! I'm gonna miss that hytte if I don't get it again next year. xD At I-Day I was wearing a blue tye-dyed Ibsen tee shirt and (off and on)a huge Norwegian-flag colored hat with big viking horns, lol! So if you saw that weird girl there ... well, that was me!
After I got home I've been on a desperate scramble to get all my favorite music from camp. Some were easy to find, Rosa Helikopter, Tunak Tunak Tun, Ompa til du Dør, etc. But some remain more elusive, like Tangokat and Bye Bye by Elli Kokkinou. (if any of you know where to get these songs, PLEASE tell me! I'd be forever grateful to you xD)
And there's one more I've been wondering about ... does anyone know the name of the song that Skogfjorden did for the closing program in 2005? We also listened to it a LOT at camp too. I can't really remember any words (I could hum it for you though, lol) or even a lot about the program we did. We were the very last ones, some of us were up in the middle dancing, and the rest of us were circled around the entire plaza, singing. Other than that, I don't really remember much. ):
But if you have ANY idea what song I'm talking about, that would make me sooo happy. It was my favorite song at camp.
Takk!
-Ingvild

The I-day dance that wasn't We've had "how do you do that dance?" posts in the past, and I'd like to make another one.
Anyone who was at MVO 1 or I-day in July (and stayed a few minutes after the closing program ended) learned or saw/heard a dance to the song "Don" by Miranda!, an Argentinian group. I believe it was taught at MVO by ELdB-Wilder.
( Here's what I can remember, to get you started.Collapse )
I think I have most of the dance down--we tried to work it out at LdB Hack during first half but it would be great to have someone check our work and help with remembering the rest.
Any help or corrections would be much appreciated!

A Request Hello. My name is Anna and I went to Waldsee for two weeks (July 31-Aug. 12). Now, I was in the Waldsee Closing Dance thing on I-Day (second half) and sadly, no one I know got pictures of it because they were all blowing bubbles . So, if anyone does, could you please send them to me at:
I'd love you forever and ever if you did send them.
Thanks!
Anna.

German Line-dance song I'm looking for the German line dance song that Waldsee taught at MVO2 and also did for a song exchange with Lac du Bois Hackensack. I know it's something about fingerse and there's a part where everyone drives a bus in the dance...
Thanks!

International Day, take 1 I took a couple videos at I-Day, they are of course crappy (thanks digital camera!) and mostly of people's backs (way to go, Hack), but if you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/lostrocket
Right now there's most of Lac du Bois Hackensack's performance, and a little short bit of Sen Lin Hu's dragon. I hope to add some of the Kalevala reading that Salolampi did, later today or tomorrow. And maybe add the rest of Hack's program.

I've heard that, at ELDB at least, they aren't letting people send you any food. How strict is this new rule?

Hola/Salut! I'm new here... so I'd thought I'd say hola/salut/hi. I've been to ELDB- Cass Lake (before it became SLH it was ELDB) for a week in '99 and '00. I went to ELDB for a weekend with school twice. In 2004 I went to ELDB - Bemidji as a 2-weeker and this summer I'm doing second session credit there.
I take French in school, but I haven't done any Lac Du Bois.
