Advanced Level in Sri Lanka is a very recent development. The subject General Information Technology (GIT) was included for G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2005. Results of the first GIT examination held in 2005 clearly show poor performance by students. But now students have improved their ICT knowledge compare to 2005. So now as an Advanced Level subject students select ICT. But those who do not choose ICT still showing poor performance in GIT subject. Also there is lack of participation in GIT exams. Considering the large amount of money spent for Information Technology education in schools it is essential that some policies should be implemented to provide support to improving Information Technology in schools. This policy brief will critically analyze the present structure and process of IT education in schools in Sri Lanka and provide attempts to make suggestions to enhance IT education in schools, especially in the context of Ministry of Education’s policy to broad-base IT education in schools. This article focuses on the structural problems in of Information Technology educational accountability that are motivating not only these collaborations but an increasing number of proposals for new intergovernmental mechanisms.

During the development processes of an organization, effective methodology has a crucial role in order achieve an accomplished stage. Agile approach is a new methodology which has been introduced recently, as a new approach for developing software to increase productivity and efficacy of software development process compared to traditional methodologies. Whereas adopting of this methodology in an SME environment still faces many problems and in-depth investigation in this area is needed in academic circles. The purpose of this research is to influence success of agile project management in subject factor of organizations, people, processes, technical and project dimensions under terms of quality, scope, time and cost. Initially, after scrutinizing of sufficient literature, an explanation and list of potential factors for agile methodology based on previous studies were introduced.
The objectives of this research are to investigate the factors that result in agile project success and failure and also to analyze the selected two companies’ agile environment. The study particularly focused on SME’s IT projects environment, where agile methods were recently adopted. This study was undertaken by action research methodology using a case study approach. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected during this study. The target population was the IT professionals of the selected two companies. This study assesses the current agile techniques by using the questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. Primary data was collected using survey, semi-structured interviews, observations of the employee engagements. Secondary data collected included meeting minutes, project documentation, and literature.
The following constraints were identified as success and failure factors in agile project delivery: Stakeholder Involvement, Customer Involvement, Culture, Team Structure, Project Type & Planning, and Skill Level of Team Members. It was found that, team members should have a positive attitude, as this is better for project performance and overall energy and well-being of the team. Finally, the researcher makes more suggestions in order to bring about success factors more effectively, how to overcome the failure factors during the development process and to have more accomplishment in agile base projects.

A blend of quantitative and subjective examination strategies have been recognized and connected amid the result assessment study. Data were gathered to investigate the interest, supply, and operational and administration parts of GIC. The exploration strategy involved a far reaching writing study, testing, advancement of study instruments, gathering and examination of field information and explanation of results in a point by point report.

Mars has bright polar caps which make dramatic changes with the seasons. In the winter season for a pole, the cap becomes much larger as carbon dioxide freezes on the surface (dry ice). The cap gradually increases in size by the beginning of spring. Hence this study was focused on developing a good technique which can identify and analyze the Ice caps automatically. In addition Special attention was given to develop a method to identify new meteoroid hits on the Mars surface because craters were very important feature of a planet surface.
Images and their data were obtained from various international sources such as NASA within the time frame January 2009 to January 2014. Sensors were Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC), Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) and ESA Mars Express (MEX).
There were many surface variations in the Mars which change gradually. So an automated surface variation detection algorithm is developed which exploits image data. The study focused on analysing a set of areas which was identified by a researches conducted by NASA which used different methodologies. For all practical identification purposes of these images, a Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed using MATLAB comprising of various shape detection utilities which facilitate crater detection, icecap detection and comparing images to find out surface variations.
This study was able to validate the finding of the parallel research conducted at NASA with a crater detecting accuracy of 75%, 80% and 70% for large, medium and small size craters respectively. For surface variation detection, the accuracy of the developed system is 70%. The technique developed can be used very easily on Martian surface exploration studies in the fields such as cartography, geology, physics, and astronomy.
