The Hellaverse has taken over LVL UP EXPO 2025, where a very special announcement was revealed. Joining its sister show Hazbin Hotel, the popular indie animation webseries Helluva Boss is coming to Prime Video. No dates are revealed yet, but the announcement sets up a very exciting prospect for fans in a new video dropped on VivziePop’s YouTube channel that revealed all the details.
The video stars Hazbin Hotel’s Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen) and _Helluva Boss_’ Blitzo (Brandon Rogers) for the first time ever on screen together, a historic moment for the Hellaverse. It’s revealed that Helluva Boss is coming to Prime Video, which is teaming up with the two-series animation company SpindleHorse. This will allow the webseries to produce full episodes and full seasons to be released. While the new schedule isn’t currently known, as an indie series, Helluva Boss would release a little at a time. Creator Vivenne Medrano had previously shared that there would be a longer delay until Season 3, but the episodes would be released closer together. This team-up with Prime Video confirms it. As for another important note, after Helluva Boss has been on Prime Video of a month, it will then air for free like normal on Medrano's YouTube channel.
The creative team will still retain full rights to the series, a true rarity for the animation industry in an era where big CEOs have deleted entire animated series in the past for tax write-offs. Medrano will retain full creative control of her two shows, which could lead to a very exciting prospect for fans. Since the announcement is described as a "Hellaverse Update" and potential crossover between the two shows is hinted at in the announcement video.
Will Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss Get a Crossover?
There have been hints at a possible crossover for some time, with Helluva Boss referencing Lucifer in their Season 2 episode, “Mastermind.” However, as Prime Video and SpidleHorse working from Medrano’s YouTube account, were two different companies, there were legality issues between them and the other studios A24 and Bento Box Entertainment that produce Hazbin Hotel. Both series had slid in subtle Easter eggs to reference their sister show, but clear lines that could not be crossed had been drawn.
However, in the announcement video, Blitzo says that characters from his series can now join the cast from Hazbin Hotel. Charlie cuts off Blitzo before he can say too much, citing she doesn’t want to reveal future spoilers from the show. Blitzo, ignoring her, proceeds to pull through his portal multiple characters from both shows, reinforcing that there is some kind of crossover coming down the line.
This is an exciting reveal for the Hellaverse, which has been a smash hit for both Prime Video and the indie animation industry. Their success has allowed other indie shows like The Amazing Digital Circus to find their own footing on big streamers, setting a new bar for the industry.
Hazbin Hotel is now available on Prime Video, and Helluva Boss is on Vivenne Medrano’s YouTube channel for free.
