Capital does not "develop out of nothing, nor drop from the sky, nor from the womb of the self-po... more Capital does not "develop out of nothing, nor drop from the sky, nor from the womb of the self-positing Idea" (N 278, MEW 203). Once Marx has disclosed the formal structure of circulating capital as a unity of formdeterminations, he then seeks to explicate the process of the "objectification of the productive forces of capital," or, capital in its "material presence." Marx has demonstrated that capital must be conceived of as a selfdifferentiated, integrated whole-an organic unity. He will now formulate an exposition of the process wherein capital becomes objectified.
