PD-old is a deprecated generic template which should not be used for new uploads. The text is identical to {{PD-old-70}} except for the tracking category. However, historically PD-old has been often used on Commons for old works where US or European Union copyright expired, without specifying why. The {{PD-old-70}} template specifies that the author(s) died more than 70 years ago. Please see the list below for templates that are preferred to either of these templates.
