The Working Class Has No Country - Revolutionary Communists of America (original) (raw)

“You know, I used to be apolitical and tried to have a peaceful outlook. But now I’m experiencing a rage like never before. Because this is too much. You can’t be apolitical here,” wrote a friend from my home country when we were catching up the other day.
He complained about militarization and nationalist propaganda at home. Food prices are rising and quality is going down. He always feels on edge due to the political and economic situation—struggling, as a result, to focus on his university studies. Every one of his messages was filled with a class hatred that I’ve never heard from him before.
“This is a healthy rage that needs to be channeled towards a productive outlet,” I said. “And I don’t mean an outlet that will help distance yourself from that rage, but one of struggle against this system. That’s why I’m on the RCI.”
We also discussed the recent assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO. My friend has never been to the US and doesn’t plan to move here, but his immediate reaction was to applaud Luigi Mangione. I explained that Thompson will be replaced and the tremendous human suffering at the hands of greedy insurance companies will continue anyway. This is why we must wage an international struggle against the entire capitalist class. He was impressed when I showed him our party’s website and paper, so now I will be calling during his winter break to talk about Marxism and how to fight the system with communist ideas and organization!
