blue hair. yay! (original) (raw)

I have dip dyed the ends of my hip lenght hair blue (and am considering adding some blue to my bangs as well) and I love it. Now here's the question. I'd like to color my remaining hair dark brown again (using non-permanent/wash out dye to keep damage minimal. Can I achieve that somehow and keep my blue ends ?

Thanks

Hello lovely blue haired people and longhairs

I was feeling adventerous and decited to dip-dye the tips of my hair blue. I have hip-length hair which is virgin on top and has some very, very faded henna in the lenghths (faded to the point that even I can't tell where my virgin hair starts (my hair is light brown). Oh, and I had put in a non-permanent (wash out) dark brown color in a while back which hadn't faded fully yet.

So I went ahead and got a tub of Manic Panic Midnight Blue and a box of Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Ultimate Lightener L1++. I left the lightener on for 45 minutes but my hair was lightened only by one shade or two, like to a yellow-ish dark blonde. I put in the Manic Panic anyway and it turned out a lovely but subtle teal - which I like but it's not what I wanted - I wanted a BOLD blue. So now my questions: can I buy another bleach kit (this time maybe the bleach kit from Manic Panic) and bleach it a second time or will this fry my hair (right now my tips look and feel fine, at least not worse than before)..how long should I wait until I can bleach it a second time, or can I do it right away ? Or didn't the color take because of the henna ?
And-I like experimenting with wash out/non permanent dyes. Is there a way of protecting my ends when coloring the rest of my hair ?

I've always wanted to dye my hair an unnatural color all over (I've had all the natural colors and then purple tips) so I figured being Sonic the Hedgehog for Halloween was the perfect opportunity!

From blonde:
height="400"

to blue!

( a few more pics, including Halloween and what it's faded toCollapse )
a lot of people have said it looks white or silvery in places. I have no idea what colors it's been fading to and I don't really care. I don't know what to do next though! Re-do the blue? Go a different color (purple?). I'm going to Germany in February and I'd like to have 'normal' hair for that I'm pretty sure, but until then, I'm open to anything! Also, I know, I haven't had a hair cut in a year. It's horrible.

I had my hair dyed with SFX Atomic Pink, Punky Colour Atlantic Blue, and Punky Colour Turquoise (mixed with Lagoon Blue)

These are pictures from the last year and a half.

I made some pictures of me lying in my bed.

I got my hair dyed blue professionally at a salon, and it's already starting to fade. Can I touch it up with blue dye I buy myself, or will layering store-bought dye over salon dye cause some sort of horrible chemical reaction that will set my hair on fire?
