The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens." -Baha'u'llahSo today Miss Van Epps called me and I was like WTF is she calling me on my house phone for??? (We're on that level where we have cell phone numbers for each other instead of house numbers.)So she called to tell me the ordeal with our flag director. We did hire someone, and she is presently in college at Lubbock getting ready to graduate. Her name is Cynthia or Cindy, I don't know, well Miss Van Epps didn't know. So yeah, she's not going to be with us until like August 7th (which is a Saturday anyway) and that sucks because that's two weeks of band camp, and one week of drill learning without learning anything.Soooooo, Miss Van Epps asked me if I had the music, and I was like yes, but the uncut music. So she told me to go by tomorrow and get it. But before that, she asked me if I would try to come up with some routine or something so we'd have something to learn while we have no director. I thought "ABOUT TIME!!!"It turns out that when she came to Rowe, she felt bad for us because were the ones writing routines. But I ended up telling her that since forever, the captain/officers wrote the routine. They never hired anyone like we did last year, and never hired a full time flag director like this year. She didn't know that, and so hopefully tomorrow I can convince her to letting me work with Cynthia/Cindy on writing the routine.Kewl kewl kewl!! I was so elated about getting to write for the first song. When I did flags well yeah it wasn't too difficult, and yeah I practiced, but it wasn't anything I needed hours and hours of practice to really get. This rifle shit is like ::jaw drops:: I'm telling anyone that I'm too damn slow to learn it and believe me, no one can really teach me, because it's not a matter of really showing me anything, it's a matter of, just getting it right. That's what's all fucked up...It's not like in flags where you have to have your hand(s) right here or there, inverted or thumb-up. It's really basic with rifle...it's just everything about it is difficult.So like I said, I'm slow and stupid and totally inept and incapable of doing this...or so I feel... Hi everyone, im here because my friend Marcus made the community and because i love him SOOO MUCH i said SURE I'LL JOIN though i'm not apart of the RGV guards anymore!My name is Rita, i used to go to McAllen Memorial H.S. and i was Captain for the 03-04 season ^_^!Since freshman year i have always loved guard, and im gonna miss football games, and crossing over and doing the whole HEY BAND thing and meeting all the new people from other schools.I am gonna continue with Guard and be in it at University of North Texas! so wish me luck with that.aside from guard, i also like other nerdy things like Anime and Japanese music and lots and lots of reading and such. ok that was my introduction, goodbye all!~Rita Pita~ Current Mood: dorky (Comment on this)

So I think I'm a first time poster, actually I'm positive I'm a first time poster.Here are the little things...My name is ChristianI go to Rowe High School in McAllenI have been Captain of our school's guard for two years; this will be my second year.I started flags when I was a sophomore, tried out for officer end of that year, and got captain, did the same thing the next year, and now I'm a Senior.My school doesn't do any weapons, we just do flags because we've never had a real flag teacher, so. However, this year we're going to hire someone, so who knows what could happen. I picked up a small amount of sabre and rifle at the Kingsville Band Camp around two weeks ago.Flags came to me quite easily, and I think that's due to the fact that I'm a guy, that and well I'm gay. Because let's face it, not all guy flags are good just because they're guys. Aww, I sound all chauvinistic and arrogant right now! Oh well!I'm off! Current Mood: amused (Comment on this)

Im Marcus......i created this community cause i knew there was alot of people that had live journals and were in guard and i thought it would be cool to have our own community! hahahah that and i have no life besides guard. so yeah i know that it looks like crap right now but trust me ill fix it up in days to come. i just to get the word going about this.well to give u some info....im Marcus. im the only guy in the McAllen Memorial Colorguard.and thats kinda cool i guess haha i made the rifle line this year woop woop! and im really good at it. for some reason guard came simple to me. lol maybe cause im a guy!
