radiiio____ @ 12:55pm: Digital Camera Advice

Heya all

I'm pretty much camera dumb and want to buy my friend a digicam for her birthday.
I'm lookign at 3 models:
Samsung Digimax D53 5mp
Fijifilm Finepix A500 5.1mp
HP Photosmart M425 5mp

I've been speaking to laods of sales people and they could care less about helping me out with getting the best deal. All they do is try to get me to buy a more expensive model, i'm pretty much tired of it all.

In your opinions, which should I go with?

supbeautiful__ @ 11:32pm: Hello. I hope to not get chewed out by doing this. But my last digi cam broke *tear* and I'm looking into buying a new one. I want a pretty good one that takes nice pictures. Could you possibly suggest any certain brands or types of cameras and/or tell me the type of camera you own.

I'd love to get into some creative photography once I finally find a good camera.

cardhousewife @ 1:37pm: My uncle is a photographer and so I grew up with pictures everywhere and became engulfed in the art around freshmen year of high school. I use a Nikon N80 right now merely because funds are limited around here. I've been looking for a community that wouldn't hold back and would rip my work apart if they felt it necessary.

hidden_kitten @ 8:36pm: i'm not sure exactly what you're looking for I figure it won't hurt to apply, so here's some stuff.
I have been taking pictures since I was little, but the Canon Powershot A75 my boyfriend got me for our anniversary really made me experiment with flash, exposure time, underwater pics (not so hot, don't do it), b&w, and sepia tones. I'm not afraid of what you think because I like them and that counts to me :D

I've only been serious (though I wouldnt even call it that) about it for 2 months. I have a crappy Olympus camedia 2.0 mexapixels. Forgive me if I posted more than I should have. I tend to take about 20 pictures a day now that I have access to a digital camera. I also use hard film sometimes and tend to scan some of those pictures to post on my journals. I tend to use my digital more, it is a Concord Eye Q 4060 AF. I have both cameras listed on my user info. I just created this new journal specifically for my photos. I hope you like my stuff. I take many different photos and i edit using different mediums, if i edit at all. Enjoy.
