when he was next to me giving me the laugh and attention that I loved. I miss that warmth only he was able to provide me with. I was safe when I was next to him. He was the only place where I was safe. It was safer and warmer than my home, family. I miss him. I miss my sanctuary.

I remember talking with friends online and on the phone for hours. Whether we were goofing off or ranting to each other about something that pissed us off, I loved it. My life may be extremely busy now, but I do miss you. Maybe we can talk again sometimes?

...my Uncle Jack. I remember the sound of his voice, his exuberance, his easy smile. I remember the last time I saw him, at my silly Elvis Presley wedding in Vegas in the Summer of 2006. I wish I had gotten to see him one last time before he died. Current Mood: sad sad

i remember being little and me, my sister and what used to be my step brothers would sit in the livig room with whom used to be my step father watching westerns while my mom was in the kitchen making pattycakes. i also remember coming home from school one day really sad because no one ever wanted to play with me in the playground, and who used to be my step father brought me out to buy a toy so i wouldn't be so lonely, and then brought me out for dinner. i think that was the first and only father daughter moment we ever had.

I remember when my brother and I were younger and we would spend Summer evenings outside, eating plums. We would run around, pretending that we were fruit bats. Then we would be bitten my mosquitos like crazy. Sometimes I would scratch mine until they bled. But we still kept on going outside again and again each Summer night. I remember when I first started to contemplate joining cadets. I was in year 8, and Ms Hookey and some of the cadet girls came into our English class to do a presentation on it for us. Catherine, Shelley and I were hooked on the idea of getting our First Aid certificate for virtually nothing. That was our main reason for even thinking of joining. In the end only Shelley and I joined. I personally think of it as one of the best choices I have ever made. Through cadets I made some of my best friends, and I'm almost positive that without joining the program, I wouldnt be friends with the people I call my best friends now. For all the bitching and complaining I made about cadets, I did enjoy it for the most part. There were some very hard moments involved with wearing that uniform, one in perticular, but I dont regret it.Without cadets, I never would have developed the friendship I have with strangelyshaded that I have today. Her friendship is the main thing I thank cadets for. x-posted to ash_neenan
