To: Me From: You (original) (raw)
I'm going to try one more time in getting this thing going. With sites like PostSecret, I thought that this would be just as theraputic, because people can ask someone about private/secret issues without giving up their identity. Not only just a place to get that secret or issue off your chest, but the chance to have a two-way communication/discussion about it. So here I am again, and here's how it works...
Need someone to talk to? Maybe you just need a quick bit of advice, or maybe you have a serious issue that you need help with. I'm here, and I'll listen. You don't have to be a member of Livejournal to use this community. I've left the anonymous posting option on. And that means you can be as secretive/private as you want. I'll put up one of these a month to try and keep it in order. If you want to keep your identity hidden, find the current month we're in, and hit the 'Leave A Comment' to that post. Once you have said what you want to, just click 'Post Comment', and I'll respond back to you.
You don't have to ask for advice anonymously if you don't want to. If you don't mind your identity known, you can post from your account on Livejournal. For those who already have an account, and don't want to post anonymously, please make a separate post to the community to try and keep things in order instead of replying to the anonymous posts.
Why is this a community and not just another actual Livejournal account? While I'll try, and give the most honest advice I can, there might be other people in your situation that may have some insight that I don't. And for that reason, other people can offer advice too. I actually welcome that idea. There's only one rule to that, and that's to allow me a chance to answer back first. As I'm resurrecting this, I will answer every post within 24 hours.
For more information on me, what I am, and what I'm not -- please click the 'User Info' link. This also has all my fancy legal disclaimers as well as more information on why and how I started this community.
As always, if you are contemplating suicide, harming yourself, or harming others there are places where you can get help. They should be contacted before posting on this community:
1-800-SUICIDE - Open 24 Hours/7 Days A Week
http://suicidehotlines.com/ - List of Crisis Centers Across the U.S.
