jejuneraccoon **02:48 am - Wishbone Plush?**Hey everyone,I was wondering if anyone happened to know where to find Wishbone plushes/stuffed animals (I've already checked eBay). I'm looking for the ones where he is dressed up as a character from literature. I already have the one where he's Romeo, just looking for the Robin Hood, Phantom of the Opera, and Sherlock Holmes one. It's a long shot, but here goes nothing!

agentbethbonsai **11:38 am - WOOOO-CHAA!!!! Game I just came up with!**Okay, gang, here's how it will work:The first person (that would be me) will post a "Wishbone" quote from the TV show or any of his books, and the first one to name what book Soccer was "jumping into" (or book for that matter), names it and then does another quote. If they cannot figure out what it is, the next person, if they know it, will name it and so forth. For example (And this can't be used... XD):WOOOCHA!(Tv...every episode)See how easy it is?I'll start!"oooh, big man with the sword! May I have this dance? *woobs*" Current Mood: cheerfulcheerful

23crayons 07:55 pmHi guys! New member here. ♥ I'm Aimee, and I found this community when I suddenly really wanted to see a particular Wishbone episode, and then decided I would look around! I loved this show, and it's so cool to see other people who love it too. :DI actually have a request-- does anyone remember the Joan of Arc episode? It was my favorite and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know who played Joan of Arc in the episode-- or even better, have it somewhere? ♥ Thanks so much!Current Mood: Woah!

semi_subtle **02:48 pm - Wow. Seriously, wow.**I'm sincerely impressed that there's a community for Wishbone out here. I hadn't seen any part of that dog in years until I stumbled on the intro on youtube. It has to have been ten years since I've seen it.... I grew up on Wishbone. It's basically the reason I know things. XDDoes anyone have links to the episodes on youtube? It's pretty tedious to sift through them all, but I'm pretty much freaking out that Wishbone is still around, in some form. ^^

magic_love333 04:22 pm - Hey!Hey! I joined maybe a month ago but forgot to introduce myself :-pAnyways, like many others have said, I used to anticipate coming home from school just to run to the couch and turn on the TV just in time to watch Wishbone =) That show was pretty much my life and love when I was a kid...haha I miss it SO much right now! I'm about to order a few epis in VHS/DVD because I miss it soo much! This is just my opinion, but I think PBS is flat out stupid for not re-running the episodes...I mean now a days it seems like the stupidest shows are being made...Wishbone wasn't just a pleasure to watch, it was also very educational. I can tell you, (I'm only 14) and I probably know about more classic books (i.e. - Romeo and Juliet, Pride and Prejudice, The Count of Monte Cristo, Great Expectations....) than anyone in my school. Learning about classic literature at such a young age in such a fun manner stays with you for the rest of your life (I'd know...since I watched the show at a very young age)...I just think they should play re-runs...anyways I'm so glad I found this community...I hope it won't die though! <333Current Mood: calmcalmCurrent Music: Me and the Moon - Something Corporate

skitzosavior 11:31 pmHi, just joined, and I'm so excited. Wishbone was/is (if I could find it on TV right now!) one of my favorite shows of all time. I even made itmy dog's "middle name" (he was adopted as "Gizmo" and we couldn't change it, so I got creative. What? I was six.) I was always a reader and an animal lover, and this show just combined the two so perfectly. I can't make a real introduction right now, but I just wanted to say how happy I am that this community is here. Cheers!--Brianne

calenfenwen 03:42 pmHey! I'm super excited to see that there is a Wishbone community out there! My name is Natalie, and I am a high school senior! I remember running home everyday after school to watch the show! I even had a Wishbone themed birthday party when I was younger, and it was very fun as I recall.I don't want to brag or anything, but I am also a first place winner in the wishbone contest a few years back where the grand prize winner got to meet the cast of the show and be featured in the book! I won a box full of loot including, but not limiting: all of the wishbone adventure books, three episode videos, a movie, and the computer game. I was one excited little girl when I won all of that!Like I said before, I'm super glad that there is such a community and I found it! :)Current Mood: busybusyCurrent Music: Narnia soundtrack

ivory_vibrance **04:11 pm - Newbie here!**Hi, everybody! I just joined today, and thought I would introduce myself.I was an ardent fan of Wishbone as a kiddie like most others I knew, but didn't realize how helpful the storylines in the show would be later in life until recently. I haven't watched it in years, but thinking back on the episodes I can remember has lead me to read some of the novels it featured that I otherwise probably wouldn't have given a second glance. I've always been a fan of the classics, and I think now that Wishbone might have lead me to, or helped me develop that. :)One of my favourite shows that I can think of at the moment (and consequently one of my favourite novels) would have to be the A Tale of Two Cities-inspired episode. I've never been much of a fan of Dickens (his social commentaries forever being rehashed throughout his novels got a bit old for me), but this novel has always stuck with me, just as with the Wishbone episode.I have a question, though; can anybody remember whether or not the show ever featured a Goethe novel, poem, play, etc.? He is one of my favourite Sturm und Drang authors, but I can't seem to remember him ever being featured on Wishbone. Hmmm...

cretey 01:15 amWishbone story! So I was obsessed with Wishbone when I was little, and learned lots about literature from it, all that good stuff. But I never really liked one episode; the Great Expectations one. I don't remember why; I think it may have been partly because I was sick when I saw that episode, and associate being sick with it. But anyway. In History class the other day, the topic came up, and my teacher mentioned "Great Expectations.""uuuughhh," I go, before I can stop myself."You don't like it?" she asks.I stutter."Have you read it?""...umm.... noo....""Well don't ugh it before you've even read it, gosh!"...how could I explain to her that it was one of the few Wishbone episodes I disliked? Also, the other day I was home sick and bored out of my mind, so I looked at our old stock of old TV show recordings and stuff. Unfortunately, we only had half of the Romeo & Juliet episode. So I watched Kratt's Creatures instead.

rissa1986 **04:43 pm - Love that Jack Russell**Hey! I just joined this community and I am a devout fan of Wishbone. The showed aired when I was about 10 years old and I used to blow people away when I could answer Jeopardy questions about literature, Shakespeare etc. The secret? Just one word: Wishbone. I hadn't thought about the show for a bit, but when I started looking up what had happened to the show online, I was sad to see that Soccer the dog had passed away. It was inevitable, but he was Wishbone. To a ten year old, that means immortality. Heck, to a nineteen year old, that means immortality too.

kekekekekekeke 01:29 amHi my name is Kate I'm 19 and from OklahomaI loved Wishbone! Joe was okay but David was my favorite. Sam was alright when she wasn't so emo about her dad. My favorite episode with the kids was the one where they found the hobo digging up a grave and they swung across a creek with a rope and invited him to a picnic, or something like that. It was nice. Or that grocery delivery service disaster. And the literature parts! Amazing. I didn't even read Hound of the Baskervilles my sophomore year because I had watched Wishbone years earlier. I think the best one was the Tom Sayer episode. Oh, so many memories. I want to watch the Pride and Prejudice one again because now I really like the book but I didn't really like that Wishbone episode back then. They need to bring back this show! I think they would have great success with a Wishbone targeted to an older demographic like us 18-22 year olds who get all teary-eyed over old PBS shows. They should make it an hour long but keep the dog in costume idea because its hilarious.Current Music: Abba

scytheandroses 06:39 pm'allo there. Been around for a bit, but sort of kept forgetting about the whole introduction thing. <.< Anywho, the name's Kristi. In my sophomore year of college, majoring in English and history, and so on and so forth. Like many of yehs, watched Wishbone obsessively and wish to Christ someone'd put the show back on. That dog introduced me to some characters that would become favorites (Lidenbrock in A Journey to the Center of the Earth, for example; actually, that episode spawned my Verne love, period) as well as bringing up a good many interesting authors and specific books (mmmm, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde). Shit, my sister and I reenacted the windmill attack in the hallway of our school a couple of years ago, thanks to Wishbone. ;) And when we read three Faust stories last year? Oh yeah. Wishbone all the way, man.Anywho, 'lo andddd... things.Current Music: Closing Credits, A Beautiful Mind
