GEForce computer keeps crashing when game applications are open (original) (raw)

One of my clients has a GEForce PC. She uses it strictly for gaming but it crashes constantly. All drivers are up to date. Any idea on how to fix?

Geforce do not make PCs. NVidia make graphics cards, powered by Geforce. Just for correctness.

We’re going to need something other than ‘crashing’. Any errors, any clues in event logs, it would also be helpful to post the spec and OS so we can assist.

If your client is overclocking, it could be this, but we’ve nothing to work with here.

OS is Windows 11, the application will close at random times and logs her out of the app completely.

Still quite generic.

What is the error in the event logs?

OK well I’m still in school for IT so you’re gonna have to bare with me. I don’t see anything in the event logs

And that’s fine, but ‘one of my clients’ suggests you do this for business.

There will be something in the event logs, any crash, regardless of the application gets logged here, including BSOD and system restarts.

Look under application and system, though it should be in the former.

Maybe he has one of this haha, jk

What is the exact model of the PC, and what are the specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.)?

Are there any specific third-party programs running that may interfere with the gaming experience (e.g., antivirus, screen recorders, overclocking software)?

Are you using any special software for GPU tuning or overclocking (like MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, etc.)?

Did the system work fine initially after setup, or were there issues from the start?

Try to watch her if you can and be methodical about it. If you pay really close attention you’ll probably find a pattern of exactly when it crashes… This assuming that what you’re saying about not being able to find anything in the system log is still true.

That means you should have some very basic knowledge about computing especially on hardware and OS ?

Then what do you mean by crashing ? What are the symptoms (OS shutdown, system blacks out etc) ?

There would be some event logs (windows 7/10/11 have like 70+ to 150+ different folders in event viewer). Even OS shutdown or system suddenly blackout or “unexpected shutdown” would be logged…then go through the logs for a few seconds before that ?

Unless the issue is caused by mobo issues (due to overheating or power draw issues) and the hardware does not have time to update the OS ?

This question lacks information. Could you please provide more details about when and which gaming application(s) are causing the computer to crash?
