Remote disk Virtualization through powershell commands in windows (original) (raw)
I have a scenario where I have two systems: System A (Windows 11) and System B (Windows Server 2016). I want to access the complete hard disk of System B from System A as a local disk (in simple terms, I want to map this disk on System A so that it appears under “Devices and drives”). The constraints for this task are that we must use only Windows native tools, and we are not allowed to use any third-party tools like StarWind or UFS Explorer and also we have to do all of this using an powershell commands. I have tried various iSCSI commands to achieve this, but I have not been able to complete the task.

I believe you can do this through Computer Management, then Connect to Another Computer. I’m not familiar with the PowerShell commands to do this but likely able to do through the Invoke-Command cmdlet.
Actually, I have to do this task through the command line. Also, can you tell me more about the Invoke-Command
cmdlet
can you please helpout me in this ?

This should get you started Invoke-Command (Microsoft.PowerShell.Core) - PowerShell | Microsoft Learn
Read through this and do some AI prompts and it should get you pointed in the right direction.
The way you word this and your insistence on skinning the cat in only one way makes me feel like we’re helping you do your homework…
