Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/events/267656893315012/?ref=ts

The Brothers gonna work it out [24 Sep 2007|10:29am]
"But it’s not merely that the Chems were beginning to seem outdated—that would be of no consequence if the music were still phenomenal—they seemed, in James Murphy’s immortal words, to be losing their edge, losing sight of their singular strengths as they receded further and further from the spotlight. It’s a small hop from obscurity to irrelevance." outdated you say... losing their edge you say... well yes The Chemical Brothers are not the same band i grew up listening to and yes the last two albums are not nearly innovating as their 90' work but i tell you this i've been to two of their concerts in two days, one at Hammerstein the other at Mccarren pool, both were packed, the energy level they bring with them is incredible (and i go to a lot of concerts), the visuals just blew people away. so i tell you this the Chem's kick some serious fucking ass i will go see them again any given day.

Okay, just this once, in terms of certain bad ass concerts that refuse to tour through here, I won't complain about living in Vegas. Vegas just celebrated it's centennial. Like, fuck the world's larget birthday cake and Mayor Oscar Goodman waving his gin soaked hand from atop some parade float. We got the Red Hot fucking Chili Peppers...and Weezer. and some band from Orange County called the Adolescents that weren't too bad.And we got it all for free.50,000 tickets given away that were largely snatched up by out of towners and scalpers. I just happened to run into my friend at the mall and he so generously offers me his extra ticket. 2 days and six hours in scorching Nevada sun and four sunburns later I'm rocking out at the very front of the stage to Flea, Anthony and all them other half naked boys. Free or not, that was one of THE best concerts I've ever been to, in terms of stage graphics and band performance. There IS a God.

[ **mood** | chipper ] I saw Sevendust at the House of Blues here in Vegas last Friday. Very front of the stage floor ticket. Amazing. LaShon has such a saintly stage presence. I was suprised how entertaining some of the opening acts were. Skindred, of course, kicked ass, because that psycho Jamaican British dude is so energetic and hilarious *he even made fun of LaShon's height, saying he liked to carry him around on his shoulder like Mini-Me*. The second band that went on, I think they were called BoBo Flex (?). I've never heard anything from these guys before, but there wasn't a single song in their set that I didn't like, and that seemed to be the unanimous vibe from the crowd. I totally dug those cornrows LaShon was sporting, and I was cracking up when he said he was gonna whoop the guy from Skindred's ass for the mini-me comment, and when he pretended to scold this girl for flashing him. He was like "Girl, I'mma tell your mama..." They played some new shit, and the only problem was that it all went by too quickly.

Deftones @ The House of Blues in Hollywood [29 Sep 2004|02:18pm]
[ **mood** | tired ] I went to the show last night and even though I enjoyed the show, it wasn't worth the money that was spent. They played for an hour and half, and for the middle 30 minutes (maybe 40) they totally rocked my socks off, but the beginning and end was weak, which is a way no show should end. I would suggest catching the Deftones in a show with a larger line up. This way they focus more on their set list and rock the entire time they are on stage...this way you get your money's worth since you're seeing just more than one band. ...was anyone else at the show last night? If so, did you see that guy by the left side of the stage vomit from the stage all the way by the bar? It got all over my friend's shoe, and so many mosher boys fell in it...and it never became less amusing...
