How to submit an individual application to present a report
To be eligible for presentation at a specific discussion session, a submitted report must contain findings resulting from original academic research, which was performed using advanced research methodologies. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present their report.
Applications to present reports under this Call for Papers can be submitted online via the HSE University conference system by Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
All applications must be accompanied by detailed abstracts. Please see the requirements for formatting academic report abstracts below:
- The abstract must state the research topic, as well as the surname, name, and patronymic (if applicable) of the author, and their institutional affiliation;
- It must further provide a clearly stated overview of the research topic and problem being addressed, as well as the extent and means by which it has been studied to date, the research methodology applied, the key findings of the research, and a substantiation of the relevance and scientific novelty of the research;
- The abstract format should be either Word or RTF;
- The abstract should have a character count between a minimum of 3,000 characters and a maximum of 7,000 characters;
- For Russian-language reports, the accompanying abstracts must be written in both Russian and English (including the report title, name of author, and the text of the abstract), while English-language reports require abstracts in English only.
A single speaker may present one individual report and a maximum of two co-authored reports.
How to submit a group application
Please note that an application to present a single report with co-authors is deemed an individual application and will not be considered as a group application .
A team of authors filing individual applications, which are duly registered in the HSE University Conference system, may file a request with the Programme Committee, by Tuesday, December 16, 2025, to present their reports collectively at the same discussion session. For this purpose, they must submit a group application form via the HSE University Conference system.
Group applications should meet the following requirements:
- from at least two up to a maximum of five reports to be delivered during the given session;
- no more than two reports presented by representatives of the same organisation;
- all individual applications of group members must be registered in the Conference system.
Once applications have been submitted for the respective thematic sections of the Conference, individual discussion sessions will be put together for each thematic section. Each discussion session will last for 90 minutes. Each report presented during a given session should last a maximum of 15 minutes.The Programme Committee may consider proposals for the content of specific sessions during the expert application review stage and when compiling the final Conference programme.
Results of the expert review process and confirmation of an applicant’s participation
Applicants will be informed of the affirmative decisions to include their reports in the programme of the XXVI April Conference, or to decline their applications, as soon as the respective expert review results are available, but no later than February 25, 2026.
The Programme Committee retains the prerogative to make adjustments to the working language of a given discussion session after completion of expert reviews of specific applications to present reports.
Authors of reports selected for presentation at the Conference must confirm (RSVP) their participation and pay their registration fee by Friday, March 20, 2026, inclusive. As well, by this date they also must upload their report presentation slides in English, indicating the author’s name, the report topic, and the theses of their presentation, via their personal account in the HSE University Conference system. An accepted applicant must RSVP to confirm their intent to participate, upload their presentation, and pay their registration fees as mandatory prerequisites for the inclusion of their report in the final version of the programme.
