Rock it Out! Blog: "How A Rock Band Became U.S. Ambassadors" (original) (raw)
It’s one thing when you’re in a band that tours the world. It’s another thing when you’re touring the world on behalf of the United States. The band Filligar has been traveling parts of the world most American bands won’t bother visiting as official arts and cultural ambassadors of the country. They’ve played in places including Kuwait, Azerbajian, and, most recently, Guyana in South America.
On today’s Rock it Out! Blog, Sami caught up with the band when they were still in Guyana to discuss their appointment as cultural ambassadors. They talk about how they became ambassadors, they types of experiences they’ve gone through in each country they’ve visited, and how they’re helping the locals of those countries to learn about Western music and culture.
