Alberto CARRETERO (Seville, 11.11.1985) studied Composition with the Extraordinary Award at the Higher Music Conservatory of Seville. He holds the Higher Degree of Computer Science Engineering with the Extraordinary Award from the University of Seville, the Higher Degree of History and Music Sciences, the Postgraduate Course of Composition (Higher Music Conservatory of Zaragoza), the Higher Degree of Journalism, the Official Master in Creation and Music Performance and the PhD titled “The process of Music Composition by means of bio-inspired techniques of Artificial Intelligence”. He has obtained the Flashback Ensemble Prize, PluralEnsemble Prize, “CajaMadrid” Prize, the “Injuve” Composition Award, “SGAE” Orchestra Prize, “Antón García Abril” Orchestral Composition Award, “PluralEnsemble” Award, AEOS-SGAE Symphonic Commission, and the “Real Maestranza” Award, handed over by The King of Spain. He has been finalist in the “Niccolò Castiglioni” Prize (Milano), “San Fedele” Prize (Milano), and “Carmelo Bernaola” Prize (Madrid). He has worked in specialized international courses in Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Holland and Poland under the maestros C. Halffter, J.M. Sánchez-Verdú, M. Sotelo, J.M. López López, H. Parra, A. Posadas, S. Sciarrino, S. Gervasoni, P. Billone, A. Solbiati, M. Lanza, etc. His music has been performed at the Carnegie Hall (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris), CentQuatre (Paris), PAS International Percussion Festival Beijing, Rialto Theater (Limassol), International Darmstadt Course, National Auditorium of Music (Madrid), Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid), Auditorium San Fedele (Milan), Fonderie Kugler (Geneve), Teatro Central (Seville), Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville), International Organ Festival (Leon), Grypario Cultural Center (Mykonos), etc.These compositions have been played by Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Recherche, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Experimental Freiburg, Divertimento Ensemble, Sentieri Selvaggi, Helsinki Chamber Choir, AuditivVokal Dresden, PluralEnsemble, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Neopercusión, Taller Sonoro, dissonArt, El Perro Andaluz, Matka, Cosmos21, Philippe Spiesser, Domenico Melchiorre, Juanjo Guillem, etc. The National Radio of Spain, Verso and Radio Círculo have recorded his works.
