Abstract: Atanassov [Intuitionistic fuzzy set, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 20 (1986), 87–96] introduced intuitionistic fuzzy set (A-IFS), whose basic elements are intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs). The IFN is an ordered pair, which is described by a membership degree, a non-membership degree and a hesitancy degree. The weights of all the existing exponential operational laws and the corresponding aggregation methods for IFNs are non-negative real numbers in unit interval. As a supplement, a new exponential operational law about IFNs is defined, in which the bases are positive real numbers and the exponents are IFNs. Then some properties of the operational law are …investigated, and an intuitionistic fuzzy information aggregation method is given. Abstract: Thermal transient response of internal combustion engines (ICEs) can enormously be improved by maintaining desired temperatures of coolant circulating in engine cooling system. Thus, fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions can be significantly reduced. Computer controlled servo actuators are the main components of advanced automotive thermal management systems. It is evident that desired thermal conditions can be achieved when all electrically controlled actuators function in harmony. In this paper, various control techniques are proposed for implementation on hydraulic actuated automotive cooling systems where they were never found in the literature implemented on such systems. A neural network optimal control (NNOC) and …a sliding mode control (SMC) are designed and introduced to examine transient temperature tracking while minimize the smart components' power consumption of thermal management system. Abstract: This paper presents a novel stable speed control approach for induction motors (IMs) using approximation capability of neural networks and fuzzy systems. Considering the fact that most of previous works are based on direct torque control (DTC) and field oriented control (FOC) without any stability analysis, the main contribution of this paper is developing a simple speed controller for medium sized IMs with guaranteed stability. The uncertainties including parametric variations, the external load disturbance and unmodeled dynamics is estimated and compensated by designing a neuro-fuzzy controller. The reconstruction error of the neuro-fuzzy estimator is compensated in order to guarantee the …asymptotic convergence of the speed tracking error using Barbalat’s lemma. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed controller provides high-performance characteristics and is robust with regard to plant parameter variation, external load and input voltage disturbance. Abstract: The increasing prevalence of wearable sensors and low-cost mobile devices have prompted the development of systems for automated diagnosis. Here we focus on models and algorithms for the early detection of strokes that are implanted in a wearable device that generates warning alarms and automatically connects to e-health services, ensuring timely interventions at the onset of a stroke. The proposed approach employs two wearable devices to monitor movement data that involve two main stages: Human Activity Recognition (HAR) and alarm generation. Two different HAR methods capable of classifying current human activity are developed and compared: one uses genetic fuzzy finite-state …machines, and the other relies on Time Series (TS) analysis. Furthermore, an algorithm using Symbolic Aggregate approXimation (SAX) TS representation is proposed for alarm generation purposes, which is triggered by the detection of anomalous movements. The proposed methods are evaluated using realistic data gathered from healthy individuals. A discussion of topics related to the learning issues involved in these techniques is included.
