The section analyses the industry architecture and standards for HEMS. Primary standards presented in the paper include ECHONET Lite, KNX, ISO 15118, ZigBee and SEP 2.0. Supporting physical layer standards include wired standards (PLC, HomePlug) and wireless standards (ZigBee, WiFi and Bluetooth).
