Organic carrot recall includes products at Wegmans, Target, Trader Joe’s - CortacaToday (original) (raw)
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Carrots sold at multiple retailers, including Wegmans, Target, and Trader Joe’s, have been recalled.
According to the FDA, organic whole and baby carrots from Grimmway Farms have been pulled off shelves for potential E. coli contamination. Nearly 40 illnesses across 18 different states have been reported thus far. The average incubation period for E. coli is 3 to 4 days but ranges between 24 hours and 10 days.
Affected organic whole carrots were sold from August 14, 2024, through October 23, 2024. Officials say these items do not have a “best-if-used-by” date on the bags.
Organic baby carrots with “best-if-used-by” dates ranging from September 11, 2024, through November 12, 2024, have been pulled.
The carrots are no longer available in stores, but officials recommend you check your refrigerator and freezer.
