The building, that is. The Brotherhood has issued a statement saying that they will not rebuild on that property. They're going to donate it to the town or to the school district, they haven't decided which, and they are buying a property north of town, closer to the river. In fact, it's the old Circle B horse "farm" that Jake Brinkley used to own.There's gossip around town that the town council is going to get a shakeup with the next election. Rumor has it that Kurt Szymanski is considering running for one of the seats. If enough of the good citizens of Cougar Ridge are upset about the casinos moving in, the incumbents had better start planning their campaigns, instead of figuring they'll all be shoo-ins!Which leads up to the biggest change that's expected: the casino. Gil still hasn't decided which site he likes best, but the owners of both properties are keen to sell to him, so he has a little time to make up his mind."Happy New Year! It's hard to believe another year has passed us by. Did you do anything good with it? Do you have grand plans for the next one? Resolutions to get your life turned around? I'm not a resolution maker, myself. I can't think of any to make! I guess that means I'm pretty happy with my life. And I guess that makes me an oxymoron, huh? A happy gothchik! But I am.
