Temperature hysteresis of the Ohmic conductivity of NbSe 3 is found and studied. It is also found... more Temperature hysteresis of the Ohmic conductivity of NbSe 3 is found and studied. It is also found that NbSe 3 exhibits non-exponential relaxation of the resistance, R. The relaxation rate, a-~ 1/R dR/dlnt, was found to depend on both the temperature and the thickness of specimens, but not on their purity. Relaxation is ascribed to nucleation and motion of dislocations of the CDW in a finite volume of specimens.

B 46, 1874 (1991)], and show that the observed length change of TaS3 due to the applied electric field is consistent with the modern understanding of the elastic properties of the charge-density waves.
