Shaved hair I am looking for females in the Central Florida area who are willing to shave their heads for a photography project.The project is based on ‘bald beauty’. I believe in supporting Art, and in supporting an organization who has helped many people who have lost their hair.Together with a professional make up artist, I plan on photographing girls that have no hair (either girls who are donating to Locks of Love, or girls who are at the receiving end of a Locks of Love hair piece).The girls would have their bodies and faces painted with ‘joints’, as if they were dolls, to represent fragile beauty, and the photographs would be tastefully done possibly in black and white. (for my portfolio please visit my website at http://chibikitsune.com, I would ask you to look at my doll photos as well as my portraits)So I am trying to find girls who either already have a shaved head, or would be willing to cut their hair (and then shave their head) for this cause. If you are eligible to donate hair, I will make sure it goes to Locks of Love. Even when you have dyed or permed hair, they are able to sell it to wig companies, and use that money to fund their own vacuum-sealed wigs.You might be asking yourself ‘why should I shave my head, why can’t I just cut the hair and donate it’. Well, I know not a lot of girls are willing to shave off their hair, but if you are, I believe it would add more impact to the photographs (I want to draw joints on the head).*If you only have short hair or really bleached or colored hair that wouldn’t be able to be donated, and are still willing to shave it off, I would still want to photograph you.*I will finalize the project by attempting to publish or exhibit these photos in art galleries. I believe this could be a great project if only I can get a few girls to help out.So please let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested. I am not able to pay you for participating but you will get copies of your photos.Locks of Love has not responded to my several attempts to contact them. I still plan on donating any eligible hair that I get, but understand that my MAIN goal is to have artistic portraits of ballsy girls who are willing to shave their heads. EEEKK! HELP!!! aarrgghh!! i have less than half a day to brush out the last of my dreads...i'll miss them but i kind have to :( i've done most of it except the last little annoying bits close to my head and it's just not going well for me, if anyone has any experience with this i could really use your advice.thanks much, kitty (2 Comments |Comment on this) |

Voila. Hey, there's like 3 members right now, but that's okay, I'll introduce myself anyway. My name is Tasha, I'm 17 yrs old, a senior in high school. I've been cutting my own hair for a few years, yeah, it's what you might call "emo", but it's what I like and I base my hair off what I want and not what's popular.
