Gujarat Titans Revealed As The Official Name Of Ahmedabad Franchise In The Indian Premier League. The new Ahmedabad-based franchise in the Indian Premier League will officially be called Gujarat Titans, the franchise owners confirmed on Wednesday with a press note.
It is notable that Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been added as the two new teams in the IPL from the IPL 2022 edition. Both these teams will be a part of the first 10-team Indian Premier League, IPL 2022, which is all set to commence in the last week of March in India. Prior to the tournament, the IPL 2022 mega auction is all set to take place in Bangalore On February 12 and February 13.

On Wednesday, the official name of the Ahmedabad franchise in the Indian Premier League. The franchise will be called Gujarat Titans. The Ahmedabad franchise has been purchased by a CVC Capital company that have had other investments too in the sporting industry. The CVC Capital was found in hot waters when there were accusations of the company being involved in sports betting.

However, after a thorough investigation, the BCCI issued a Letter of Intent to CVC Capitals, who retained Hardik Pandya as their captain for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Apart from Hardik, the two other retentions that were done by Gujarat Titans were Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill. While Hardik and Rashid have been picked for INR 15 Crores each, Shubman Gill has been picked for INR 15 Crores.
The other new team in the competition, Lucknow Super Giants retained KL Rahul as their captain while going along with Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi as their 2nd and 3rd retentions respectively. The IPL auction 2022 will take place in a two-day affair on February 12 and February 13 in Bangalore from 11 am.
