Research paper thumbnail of Automation of Gates of Water Reservoir Using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)

International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2018

This paper is intended as an overview of automation of gates of water reservoir. Water reservoir ... more This paper is intended as an overview of automation of gates of water reservoir. Water reservoir are crucial to country's economy as they are the resources of power generation, irrigation, water conservation and so on. This paper is focused on automation the gates of water reservoir and controlling variable parameters like level and flow of water with real time implementation using programmable logic controller. In this paper, a programmable logic controller is act as an industrial computer, playing role of a control device and level sensors provide incoming signals to the control unit. The prototype model is provided with five levels and depending on the level sensor outputs, ladder logic is actuated. This work uses PLC of Semeins-Simatic S7300 with 32 digital I/O and 8 analog I/O.

F... more Power is measured in instantaneous quantities, while energy is the integral of power over time. For example, a 100 W light bulb absorbs 100 W of power. If operated for one hour, that light bulb absorbs 100 W – hours of energy. Maximum demand is the maximum instantaneous power consumed over a specified window of time. In the case of that 100 W bulb, as it is switched on and off, the instantaneous demand goes from zero to 100 W to zero, etc. Not very interesting. But if that bulb is operated in parallel with a second 100 W light bulb that is left on all the time, the demand will switch instantaneously between 100 W and 200 W, and the maximum demand of the combination will be 200 W. Now, the way this is applied is that electric distribution utilities often include demand as one of the factors used to determine the bill the consumer receives. In addition to measuring integrated energy consumption over the billing period (typically a month), they also measure demand. Rather than measure ...

Whereas pH is a good indicator of the balance of available nutrients in your soil, Electrical Conductivity can almost be viewed as the quantity of available nutrients in your soil.

Signal processing is essentially needed to process and analyse signal but it is difficult to process and analyse the noisy signal. In many cases the noise signal is even stronger than the actual vibration signal, so it is important to have some mechanism in which noise elimination can be effectively done without affecting the actual vibration signal. This mechanism is termed as de-noising of the signal, in this research an Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) based de-noising method followed by either discrete wavelet transform or Fourier transform along with their conventional thresholding methods are used to evaluate their effectiveness. It is applied on Raw and TSA form of the vibration signal.

Research paper thumbnail of A Model Driven Optimization Approach to Determine Tilt Angle of Solar Collector in India

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ADVANCED RESEARCH IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, 2019

The solar systems are an intense need to full fill the energy requirement of developing countries... more The solar systems are an intense need to full fill the energy requirement of developing countries like India. Where, thermal and photovoltaic are the two methods to utilize the solar energy directly from sun. In these methods solar equipments (e.g. flat plat collector and Photovoltaic panel) are kept in tilted position for absorbing maximum solar flux. Hence, finding the optimum tilt angle is the problem of optimization. Therefore, in this paper model driven optimization approach such as particle swarm optimization (PSO) estimator has been proposed to find optimum tilt angle and its results are compared with analytical results. A novel cost function has been applied to determine periodical optimum tilt angle. To validate the performance of PSO estimator results, statistical analysis study is carried out. Where, three statistical approaches such as descriptive method, direct method and Altman-Bland methods are adopted. The PSO estimator results are found satisfactory to ANA results at 95% confidence interval under statistical study.

Utilization of these three technologies can play a major role in the success of farming thereby modernizing the irrigation system. This paper is focused on the Smart Irrigation System which draws a lot from real-time data analysis, IOT and Machine Leaning. It also presents a study of a system that processes real time data and takes decision about to what extent the field needs to be irrigated. In this way water is saved, its misuse regulated and can be restored for future use if required. Here we rely on cloud data and some other agri-factors which help in decision making. The Smart Irrigation System discussed here shall also regulate the use of underground water my incorporating IOT and weather forecast. The system will also contribute to effective irrigation taking in view the contemporary weather conditions and the requirement of water in the ...
