Daniel Jackson 100 (original) (raw)

Challenge 32: Television

In 'Continuum' we learn that Daniel didn't have a TV set. But did he ever? And Jack and Vala certainly do: have either drug Daniel over to watch their favourite shows?

Does Doctor Jackson secretly Hulu?

If Daniel can come back from the dead, why can't daniel100?

Every other Wednesday a new challenge will be issued and you're encouraged to write up at least 100 words on said prompt. You'll have two weeks to submit your work before that challenge is closed and another is opened.

Be it a drabble or short story (or longer if the mood takes you!), it must (a) focus on Daniel Jackson and (b) be connected in some way to the issued challenge. The story does not need to be told by Daniel Jackson, but it should very much, unmistakably be about Daniel Jackson. Otherwise, skies the limit!

Feel free to interpret as closely or loosely as you'd like to the given prompt. We're here to encourage you as writers of SG Fanfic. Get wild, get crazy, but most of all, have fun with it! Even if sometimes "fun" means "whumping poor Danny into H/C oblivion".

Also, don't feel constricted to one entry alone. If you have multiple ideas, please share them all! All we ask is that you not over run the list with your prolific brilliance.

Challenge 27: Atlantis

The lost city of the Ancients. Is it the city that draws Daniel - or someone in it? You tell us!

My apologies for being a week off. For those who follow my journal-journal, there was a death in my family and it's thrown a bunch of things for a loop. Like my free time. Never the less, the world continues to turn! And with it, the love for Daniel Jackson.

Challenge 026: Team Study - Vala Mal Doran

Daniel spends day in and day out with his team, SG-1. Oh, sure, occasionally he's "loaned out" (and sometimes, they have to go out and bring him back themselves), but we all know where he hangs his boonie at the end of the day. With this in mind, daniel100 will be taking an individual look at each member of this infamous team.

Not since the early Jack n' Daniel days have we seen this many verbal fireworks! Whether it's Vala trying to wheedle her way out of/into something or Daniel reminding her that, no, the SGC does not condone intergalactic thievery, there's a spark there that's fun to watch. Some have even gone so far as to say Vala's given Daniel a much needed kick in the pants, giving him a purpose and focus that's seemed missing these last few seasons. A Tracy and Hepburn? Lois and Clark? Or a Laurel and Hardy.

Challenge 025: Team Study - Cameron Mitchell

Daniel spends day in and day out with his team, SG-1. Oh, sure, occasionally he's "loaned out" (and sometimes, they have to go out and bring him back themselves), but we all know where he hangs his boonie at the end of the day. With this in mind, daniel100 will be taking an individual look at each member of this infamous team.

Camshaft! The New Guy! And SG-1's very own personal fanboy (second only to Jay Felger, maybe). No longer do we hear the frustrated growls of Jack over enunciating "Dan_iel_!" but the incredulous bark of Cameron's "Jackson!"

And, of course, Vala's opinion on Earth's limited gene pool when it comes to how our men look. Cough.

There's certainly a different dynamic between this Colonel and our favorite archaeologist; the stars may have been washed out of Daniel's eyes by the harsh realities of the universe, but his goal-oriented tunnel vision needs just as much reigning in now as it did then, and technically, that job falls on Cam's shoulders. How's that working out for you?

Challenge 024: Team Study - Teal'c

Daniel spends day in and day out with his team, SG-1. Oh, sure, occasionally he's "loaned out" (and sometimes, they have to go out and bring him back themselves), but we all know where he hangs his boonie at the end of the day. With this in mind, daniel100 will be taking an individual look at each member of this infamous team.

By all rights, Daniel Jackson should have loathed Teal'c with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. Teal'c took his wife from Abydos, offered her personally to Aphosis. Later, Daniel was forced to destroy Thor's Hammer to free Teal'c from the maze on Cimmera, and after all that, Teal'c shot Sha're, killing her right in front of her husband. You could very well say Teal'c brought down the destruction of Daniel's entire way of life. Repeatedly. And yet, somehow, these two men were able to not only work together, but become friends, building a bond strong enough to withstand all of that and more. Was it easy? Or something they had to work hard for. Did Daniel ever regret his choices? You tell us!
