Welcome to DC_Imperium!

This is a fic based role playing game that is open to the characters of the DC comic universe (as well as original characters). As such this game will no doubt be very interesting as we try to fit characters from a modern setting into what is a world based on Ancient Rome, but with other cultural elements mixed in as well.

As with any game, the goal is to have fun. This can be achieved count less ways and the more imaginative, the better. Please remember that there are other people playing as well, so communicating with the other players is a good idea. Convoluted plots spanning many fics are more then welcome, but also realize that the actions of other characters can affect those plots and make for situations you as a writer and player need to work around.

Rules

  1. No flaming or attacking another player for any reason. This will not be tolerated. Nor will arguing on the community. If you have a grievance, contact the individual or a mod privately. We are all mature adults or reasonable facsimiles of the same, so lets act like it.

  2. All posted fics need to include the name of the characters involved in the Tags and contain the following information:

    Prompt:
    Characters:
    Warnings:
    Rating:
    Word Count:
    Summery:

  3. while players ARE allowed you use/write other people’s characters, the owner of a given character has ultimate veto rights. If the other player believes that his/her character has been written OOC, they can take it up with the author and have the fic changed. If the author refuses to change the fic, the other player can appeal to a game mod to have the story removed; it is then the mods call whether or not any action is to be taken. For this reason it’s strongly advices that players note only have detailed bios for the their characters, but that they also talk to other players and work out the kinks before posting. Besides, half the fun is plotting with other players on how to torment our favourite characters.

  4. LJ cuts are your friend. Anything over 300 words should go behind a cut. That cut needs to lead to a post here on the community, but you are of course free to repost your fics anywhere you choose.

  5. Please don’t begin posting fics until after your character is approved.

  6. Please provide a link to your own LJ so that OOC comments can be made about the fics in the character's journal.

  7. This game is open to Gen, Het, Slash and pretty much whatever else your little heart desires. Just make sure you have the appropriate rating/warnings up on your fics.

  8. If the character exists in the DC comics, it’s welcome here. And while the setting is vastly different here in the game, we do expect them to remain in characters. That means Kon-el isn’t going to all of sudden be a quiet bookworm in a temple, for example. Nor will Diana be a meek and fearful chamber maid. Both COULD be in those positions, they could even be “going under cover” as such, but the personalities should be recognizable as them to the reader. otherwise there really isn’t any point to claiming the character.

  9. Writing tot eh prompts is part of game play. You have four weeks after a prompt is posted in order to post a fic using it. Prompts are posted weekly, but you need only post to 1 in 4 to be considered a active player. If you which to post a fic that doesn’t correspond to any prompt simply put “Writer’s Choice” in the Prompt field. However, writer’s choice will not count as writing to a prompt for obvious reasons.

  10. Please put the full name of all the player characters involved in the tags of your post as this will make it easy to find the related stories. So if a wrong a story between Jason and Tim it would have the following tags: Jason of Argo, Timothy (of Drake).
