We asked 300+ customers why they bought from ALLIES OF SKIN. Then we cross-checked their answers against our attribution data. 👇 The chart below shows what we found. → Only 45% of those who said they bought because of an influencer were actually attributed to influencer marketing. The rest? They were tagged as: → Paid ads → Search → Loyalty → Direct It’s messy. It’s qualitative. It’s also the truth. This is the problem with last-click attribution: It captures the end of the journey — not the reason it started. And in beauty, the journey is never linear. The decision doesn’t happen at the moment of purchase. It happens upstream — where trust is built. And influence is still the most powerful driver of trust. So definitely track last clicks. Just don’t build your mix without tracking qualitatively what moves people to buy your product. -
