Summer party 🎉 Last week, more than 80 people celebrated with us. It was great to see our supporters from the #dental industry, #additive manufacturing, the #startup world, and #science come together, inspire each other, and celebrate with us. Besides cold beer from the barrel, tapped by Josef Schweiger ZT M.Sc., and delicious food from the grill, we had the opportunity to open the doors of our labs. Our latest achievements in technology and operations were on display. Remember when we won the 3D Pioneers Challenge in the MedTech category? 🏆 🎉 Besides the prize money we got the chance to do a workshop and start-up coaching session with AM Ventures. So last week Arno & Philip visited us and we spent a great day together. The two AM VC titans gave us valuable insights and challenged our plans. It was a pleasure to show you our lab and we are excited about the future. 🚀 -

Last month we had our first #offsite in the beautiful Bavarian Alps 🏔. For an entire weekend, we worked hard on our #strategy, had effective workshops and enjoyed spending time together away from the daily grind. Hiking in the mountains and cooking together strengthened our team even more. Morning ice baths in the freezing water prepared us for the day and weren't even as hard as expected. 3D Pioneers ChallengeThe ninth edition of the international design competition at rapid.tech3D allowed visitors to explore the exhibition of the 43 finalists and experience the award ceremony live on 15 May. The top prize went to a team from Texas A&M University for their 3D Printed Electronic Skin project. The E-Skin imitates human skin and has applications in robotics, wearables and healthcare. Nanoengineered hydrogels enable highly flexible, stretchable electronic structures that can sense strain, pressure and temperature, representing a significant advance in flexible technology. 3DPC2024 Winner FashionTech: Balena is working with 3D fashion designers Variable Seams on 3D printed, compostable garments. The FlexTex3D technology uses BioCirc®️flex3D, a bio-based, compostable material that minimises waste and closes the loop. This project demonstrates innovative approaches to sustainable fashion and the circular economy. 3DPC2024 Winner MedTech: FIDENTIS, a spin-off from the Fraunhofer IGCV, has developed an additive multi-material process for telescopic prostheses. This saves 60% of production costs and makes high-quality dentures affordable. Mit Biss zu mehr Lebensqualität: FIDENTIS, eine Ausgründung des Fraunhofer IGCV, will mit einem herausnehmbaren Zahnersatz das Leben vieler Menschen verbessern. 🦷 Dafür erhält das junge Projektteam eine Förderung in Höhe von 1,46 Millionen Euro im Rahmen des EXIST-Forschungstransfers des Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz und der Europäischen Union. 🥳 Aktuell konnten sich aufgrund von Kostengründen nur wenige Menschen qualitativ hochwertige Teleskopprothesen leisten. Genau hier setzt das junge Gründerteam an. Mithilfe additiver Fertigung und vielfältigen Digitalisierungslösungen wollen die vier Wissenschaftler diese hochwertige Versorgung einer breiteren Masse von Patientinnen und Patienten zugänglich zu machen.
