With revenue of 3.0 billion euros and a transport performance of 7.5 billion freight ton kilometers in 2023, Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world's leading companies in the transport of airfreight. The company currently employs around 4,150 people worldwide. Lufthansa Cargo's focus is on the airport-to-airport business. The route network covers around 300 destinations in more than 100 countries, using both freighter aircraft and cargo capacity from passenger aircraft operated by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines and SunExpress, as well as trucks. The majority of the cargo business is handled via Frankfurt Airport. Lufthansa Cargo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and the specialist for the logistics business of the Lufthansa Group.

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is an international non-profit organization focused on reducing greenhouse gas emission from freight transportation. "We are proud to welcome Lufthansa Cargo, an innovation driver in the transition to low-carbon aviation, to the SFC Community. Lufthansa Cargo began this journey decades ago and has since developed extensive expertise in green strategies and carbon accounting, providing robust and reliable evidence of their impact - a valuable asset that will strengthen our joint efforts towards decarbonizing the aviation industry”, says Andrea Dorothea Schoen, Director of the Clean Air Transport program, Smart Freight Center. “As a leading international cargo airline, our mission is to enable global business and connect economies and markets in a more sustainable way. Time really does fly when you're delivering dozens of tons of goods across the Atlantic every week! Our customer-specific routing has been a game-changer for special industries, and we're proud to say that Stavanger now gets not one, but two weekly visits from our freighters. On top of our B777F connection with Houston, our A321F also makes a weekly stop connecting the Norwegian city with Frankfurt and the rest of the world. To mark this fantastic milestone, we're thrilled to share a stunning view of our approach into Stavanger's fjord. Thanks to our A321F cockpit crew for capturing this! 🇨🇳 Air China Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo announce closer cooperation with a Memorandum of Understanding 🇨🇳 Air China Cargo and #LufthansaCargo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will take the long-lasting partnership of both carriers to the next level. The MoU was signed during a ceremony in Shanghai by Air China Cargo CEO Jun Li and our CEO Ashwin Bhat. Under the terms of the MoU, together we will work closely on a number of aspects. “Lufthansa Cargo is pleased to manifest the long-standing relationship with Air China Cargo with this MoU. The relationship will improve our service offerings to our customers since we share a common commitment to take the cooperation to the next level.” said Ashwin Bhat. The MOU aims to establish a framework to further develop cooperation in focused areas, enhancing operational efficiencies, and improving customer experiences through innovative solutions and shared expertise. It also recognizes the strategic goal of jointly developing Shanghai Pudong Airport into the world's most competitive Asia-Pacific core hub and actively exploring ways to deepen the partnership. "The last 25 years of partnership through our joint venture have yielded excellent results for both parties. The MOU marks the beginning of our cooperation journey, and we look forward to even closer collaboration in the years ahead", commented Feng Xin, CEO of Shanghai Airport Authority. Focus on Asia 🌏 Our new winter flight schedule is now live, and we're thrilled that our freighters fly to 17 destinations in Asia. A major highlight in our winter timetable is the launch of a transpacific flight, connecting Frankfurt, Ho Chi Minh City, and Los Angeles. This new route provides a direct connection from Asia to the U.S., offering faster and high-quality service for our cargo customers. But that's not all - we've also increased our capacity to key Asian cities. We have increased our weekly freighter capacity to Mumbai (BOM) and Taipei (TPE) by one flight per week. Chennai (MAA) is now served twice weekly in combination with Hyderabad (HYD) or Mumbai (BOM). We can now offer you a total of 50 weekly freighter frequencies to Asia. With 89 weekly B777F frequencies worldwide and 34 short and medium-haul connections in Europe and North Africa with our A321 freighters, we are expanding our reach throughout the whole world. In addition, we also offer cargo capacity on over 7,500 flights a week to 350 destinations worldwide in our belly network.
