🕰 Time flies—it’s already been a week since an intense and inspiring time in San Francisco. Despite traveling back on Monday, the jet lag still lingers, but here I am on the road again, reflecting on the valuable lessons I took back with me 💬 Last week was all about meeting fascinating people and soaking up learnings that are pivotal for Neggst’s growth as we look toward expansion. The week kicked off with an energizing session organized by EIT Hub Silicon Valley and Opengate, where both the spaces and networking experience were refreshingly different. Huge thanks to Pui San Tam, Mareese Keane , and Elif Ceylan for making it such a memorable start! The following days were packed with events organized by SVG Ventures | THRIVE as part of EIT Food / EIT Food RisingFoodStars’s cohort. It was great to share this journey with other innovative people from who I learned also a lot. Thank you Aviaja Riemann-Andersen from Agrain by Circular Food Technology, Xavier Marcenac from Nasekomo, Francois Thierart from MyEasyFarm, Tali Feldman Sivan (PhD)🎗️ from Meala Foodtech, and Maija Itkonen from Onego Bio for making this journey even more interesting. And of course thank you to Paula Elliott, Justin Massar and the entire SVG Ventures team that organized the Immersion program. A few key insights stood out last week: • Building relationships in the U.S. takes time—about 18-24 months. • To break into the U.S. market, you need to be there in person. • Establishing a strong brand presence in Europe is essential before expanding to the U.S. • Embracing “smart failures” is the path to the right solution. • It’s not about who founded the company; it’s about who can scale it. • While patents are valuable, speed, continuous innovation, and customer commitment are the ultimate safeguards. 🤝 The theme of partnerships as a critical success factor came up time and again. They can be your best accelerator or your biggest obstacle. 🤝 Another big takeaway? A startup truly hits its stride after its third-fourth year. 🚀 Investor advice was clear and resonated strongly: - Be Focused - Be Honest - Be Patient I am excited about the Neggst steps, and to keep learning and growing each day. We knew being part of the EIT Food RisingFoodStars was already a success but the events we have had thanks to their organization have been a great experience. We were at the 📍 London FFT and the 📍 Next Bite event in Rome and in both we connected with so many different investors, corporates and founders. Besides, the last few weeks, our founder Veronica Garcia Arteaga, PhD has been part of the cohort of the THRIVE Immersion Program from SVG Ventures | THRIVE learning from leaders on the agtech innovation, investors and other experts on different topics. She will be attending the Global Impact Summit on the 7th of November as well as other interesting workshops, tours and presentations. Had an amazing time at the EIT Food Next Bite event over the past two days, we had our Neggst booth as part of the EIT Food RisingFoodStars. We connected with incredible investors and EIT partners. I had the opportunity to give a 3-minute pitch on how we’re revolutionizing the egg industry with our plant-based products. What made this experience even more special was bringing my daughter along. She was very welcome by everyone, throwing out flyers and smiles—our youngest and most enthusiastic business developer! 💼 It is always exciting to meet with other founders and get inspired by their passion. We are definitely building the future of food and my biggest motivation is building the future for my daughter and future generations.
