RoBo®Tec - Smarter propagation, better plants.

“Advancing innovation, development, and efficiency in smart, sustainable farming and cultivation” - this sounds very much like RoBoTec, but is actually the motto of this year’s AgriTech 4.0 conference, which we had the pleasure to support as a presentation partner alongside companies such as Corteva, AgriSynth and many others. The agricultural sector is facing the enormous challange of having to feed around 10 Billion people by 2050. At RoBoTec we believe that this will only be achievable through groundbreaking technological innovation. Formats like AgriTech 4.0 give a plattform to farmers, growers and industry solution providers to share and discuss these innovations - thereby bringing us one step closer to building the agriculture of the future! Thanks to all other presentation partners for their great contribution! AgriSynth Unium Bioscience Ltd Burleigh Dodds Science Publishing Corteva Agriscience TECH 4.0 -

Beyond its technological prowess, RoBoCut addresses some of the most pressing challenges in agriculture today. With the ability to efficiently scale plant production in large quantities, RoBoCut accelerates the introduction of new crop varieties, which is crucial for global food security—especially in the face of climate change. AI also plays a deciding role here, as it enables RoBoCut to be highly precise and sterile, therefore ensuring less plant loss due to disease and cutting mistakes. This is due to the AI’s learning process: it is trained to identify the best way to cut plants through thousands of images inside the sterile environment of the RoBoCut machine. RoBoCut is not only advancing technology but also promoting sustainable, high-quality agricultural practices—paving the way for a greener future. 🌾🌿 - RoBoTec PTC hat dies direkt geteilt

At RoBoTec, we don’t just know everything one needs to know about plants, but we are also innovators at heart. One of the things that make us so innovative is the AI that is at the heart of RoBoCut. We wanted to make the in vitro plant production process independent of human labor, and in the process make it faster, more flexible and less prone to errors. That is why we decided to use AI to cut the plants and transport them in their containers. But why is that so special? Unlike traditional automation systems that rely on static, cyclical processes, RoBoCut leverages 3D image recognition and real-time decision-making by AI, enabling context-sensitive control over complex production chains. This marks a significant milestone, where data from multiple sources is integrated to achieve unparalleled levels of automation. The process is important because while these plants are genetically clones, every plant looks slightly different and has a different cutting point, which normally a person would only be able to identfity with considerable training. RoBoCut isn't just a technological leap forward—it's also protected by multiple patents. That is how we want to transform the future of agriculture and beyond! 🚜💡 -

At RoBoTec, we are plant experts at heart. One of these experts is Sabine Hartmann, who has been driving innovation in plant production with us for over 15 years. Here’s the story of how she overcame her initial scepticism of automated in vitro production and came to be excited about driving the plant production of the future 🌱 : -

Deforestation is one of the most critical environmental challenges of our time, contributing to climate change, habitat destruction, and biodiversity loss. This land loss is on the one hand due to additional housing, road construction and industry, and on the other hand due to climate change. In Germany alone, 500,000 hectars of forest were lost between 2018 and 2021. As the demand for land and resources continues to rise, innovative solutions are needed to restore forests and preserve ecosystems. In vitro plant production can play a significant part in counteracting deforestation. We need to propagate plants rapidly to restore degraded forests and create a more resilient ecosystem. RoBoCut can play an important role in speeding up the process of reforestation worldwide by automating the plant production process and producing tree cultures at a large scale. Read below how in vitro plant production can help battle deforestation 👇🌳 - RoBoTec PTC hat dies direkt geteilt

Without the use of AI, RoBoCut would not be able to function the way it does. But complex AI systems have specific requirements in terms of data storage and computer speed. We’re happy to have a reliable partner for our AI servers in Spectra GmbH & Co. KG, a Baden-Württemberg - based company for industrial high-tech products. This week, Kay Neuhaus from Spectra came to visit us to ensure that we had the best possible server solution for RoBoCut. Thank you for the nice visit, Kay! We’re looking forward to reading more about the technology behind this soon on Spectra’s page!
