#DSM2024: RWTH Aachen University takes second place in the list of top German startup universities | Yesterday, the latest edition of the German Startup Monitor was released. As always, the annual study of the German startup landscape by the Startup-Verband gathers data on the academic background of the participating founders and on the role of universities in the startup ecosystem. This year, 4.7% of all participating founders have obtained their highest degree at RWTH Aachen University, making RWTH one of the top startup universities in Germany. Congrats to our colleagues at the Technical University of Munich on making it to the top of the list! But there are some more takeaways from the study: ▪️ The USP of Germany as a startup location continues to be its proximity to universities (80.5%), with universities generally being a major asset of the ecosystems. ▪️ More than half of all German startups were supported by a university and their relevance is rated higher than ever before. ▪️ One in ten startups can be classified as deeptech. And especially for deeptech startups focusing on technology develpment, patents play a decisive role. Following the motto of this year's report, the results are a great incentive for us to take "a look ahead" and continue our efforts to ensure impactful #EntrepreneurialTransfer at RWTH! We bring together interdisciplinary start-up teams who work collaboratively on predominantly technology-based projects, develop their own prototypes and establish growth-oriented companies. To this end, we operate a variety of professional production machines from different professional and specialist areas. What will you be doing? You will be responsible for the production of turned and milled parts (prototypes), both conventional and CNC-controlled, based on CAD/CAM systems, technical drawings, sketches and specific requirements. You will set up, operate and monitor CNC machines, carry out precision work in the field of metal processing, and ensure the maintenance and servicing of machines and tools. In addition, you will cooperate with start-ups in the realization of production projects, and perform quality control and ensure that manufacturing requirements are met, Who are we looking for?
