Info
While businesses increasingly recognize their dependence on nature, they’ve lacked effective ways to measure its value and generate returns from protecting it — until now. The Landbanking Group leverages AI to affordably measure nature health anywhere on Earth and turns improvements in soil, carbon, water, or biodiversity into tradable financial assets that can be booked on balance sheets. This lets companies profitably invest in nature, while land stewards (farmers, conservationists, etc.) get rewarded for the health of their land — without selling the land itself. The Landbanking Group is already working with major businesses worldwide, building a financial system where protecting and restoring nature is profitable for all players. The Landbanking Group is a private, social-benefit company that brings together leading scientists, company builders, technology experts and investors. Disclaimer: The Landbanking Group is not a bank in the traditional financial services sense. We support land stewards to create and valorize natural capital accounts. We do neither broker nor deal securities, we do not provide regulated financial services or financial advice. The Landbanking Group is no lender and no e-money sending business. Our website and all external materials such as decks, powerpoints, PDFs, articles and communications are not offering financial advice of any kind whatsoever.

The consequences of our choices are no longer far off in the future, but they happen today and all around us. So, for our economies and businesses, for communities and livelihoods, the essential question is “how do we deal with each other, and how do we deal with nature”? -

"Nature degradation does not affect my company and is not business material" We often hear this phrase when we talk to companies that supposedly have no exposure to direct land use in their supply chain. May that be service providers or technology companies. And now better than ever, we can see that the opposite is the case: Last week, we witnessed firsthand how our core business has been severely impacted by the uncontrolled wildfires ravaging California. They caused a server failure that has significantly delayed data processing. As a result, some of the environmental values we measure—such as changes in water-holding capacity on a piece of land—are currently unavailable for display. Every business is exposed to climate and nature risks. Regardless of industry - we have to learn how to adapt and mitigate. And we have to learn it fast. -

We are facing an exponential and long-term problem. In the face of its complexity, some dedicated and passionate visionaries discussed, brainstormed and problem-solved at this year’s World Systemic Forum. The Forum took place in Schaans, Liechtenstein and assembled a wonderful crowd for an intense but interesting working session on Nature Capital. The topic that Dr. Sonja Stuchtey and Naoko Brückner introduced: The relevance of Nature Capital and its potential implications of temperature developments for landowners, biomass loss for communities and relevance for buyers of agricultural goods. Thank you for the invite and the stimulating conversations Rudolf Hilti, Anke Lüssem, and Dr. Philipp Staudacher. -
