Building a robust regenerative agriculture ecosystem takes a village—with farmers at the center. Malu Nachreiner emphasizes how collaborating is essential to define what regenerative agriculture truly means on the ground. 🌾 The future of agriculture in Asia truly starts with farmers. They must be at the center of the conversation, collaborating with various stakeholders to shape what regenerative agriculture means on the ground. "We need to partner not only with farmers but also engage with a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders—including NGOs, government, companies, startups, and academia. Together, we can create robust solutions that empower farmers and ensure a sustainable agricultural future."#RegenerativeAgriculture -

Did you know that smallholder farmers are the backbone of food security – especially in Africa? 🌍 It's important to listen to them and understand the challenges they face, particularly with climate change. In early October, the second African Farmer Roundtable was held to do just that – together with Pontifical Academy for Life, Global Farmer Network, World Farmers' Organisation, African Agricultural Technology Foundation, and Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture. Farmers from Sub-Saharan Africa discussed with international policymakers and other key stakeholders the importance of policies that enable smallholders to apply regenerative agricultural practices more broadly and to improve food security in Africa. The key outcome of the discussion: They benefit from regenerative agriculture through a diverse set of practices, but they need better access to technology. The insights from three participating farmers show that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution; each farmer faces unique challenges and needs. For us at Bayer, regenerative agriculture is an outcome-driven system approach that combines the right set of solutions tailored to each farm’s specific conditions, with a focus on improving soil health and strengthening resilience. #RegenerativeAgriculture #FoodSecurity -

Welcome, Vietnam, to the Better Life Farming family! The first Better Life Farming Center in Vietnam has formally opened its doors to support local #smallholder coffee and durian farmers. The demand for high-quality durian and coffee continues to rise, presenting economic opportunities for farmers in Vietnam. The crops also pose substantial challenges, particularly due to #ClimateChange, widespread pests, water shortages, and declining soil quality. BLF in Vietnam will be driven by Model Farms (run by local farmers for local farmers) and Better Life Farming Centers (managed by local agri-preneurs) to support farmers and foster connections in the agricultural ecosystem. In the next phase, the project plans to provide additional services tailored to specific local needs, including family and community health and empowerment of women and youth in the agricultural sector -- all designed to help improve the lives of farmers, their families, and their local communities. -

🌍✨ Today, I had the honor of moderating the B20 Summit Side Event: “Digital Farming – Enhancing Sustainability and Regenerative Agriculture,” hosted in Brazil by OECD - OCDE Business at OECD (BIAC), and CNI, as a B20 legacy campaign. 💫The event highlighted the need for innovative solutions that can enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impact, especially for smallholder farmers by evolving to regenerative agriculture and digital farming. As we face a challenging future in agriculture due to climate change, urbanization, and soil degradation, it’s crucial to rethink how we grow our food. 🌱Digital farming combines traditional knowledge with cutting-edge technology, enabling farmers to make informed decisions and adopt regenerative agriculture practices. The OECD's role in promoting these practices through digital transformation is vital for the future of agriculture. 🙏 A special thank you to BIAC (Hanni Rosenbaum and Rokas Morkūnas for leading this initiative) and to our esteemed speakers such as Aline Vick, brazilian Farmer and Manager at Fazenda Estância Farm, whose insights and experiences are invaluable to understand all the opportunities that digital farming brings to increase productivity while protecting the environment. 🧑🌾Aline is committed with Regenerative Agriculture and digital farming, and she set the stage for the discussion on how digital farming boost regenerative agriculture. We also had the pleasure to listen to Marion Jansen, Director of the Trade and Agriculture Directorate at OECD; Jeremy Groeteke, Chairman of the Digital Agriculture Association and Renato Guimarães, President of FMC Latin America. 🔎This event was part of “Fields of the future”, the OECD Digital Farming Campaign, and a great forum to discuss the future of agriculture.
