Web Teaser: Meryl Streep In 'Web Therapy' (original) (raw)

Here it is: an exclusive first peak at Meryl Streep‘s guest arc on Lisa Kudrow‘s imrov comedy web series Web Therapy, in which the Oscar winner plays a sexual orientation therapist. The first of Steep’s 3 episodes premieres Monday, Nov. 8, the second Nov. 10 and the third Nov. 12 on Lexus’ LStudio.com.

Web Therapy, created by Kudrow, her producing partner Dan Bucatinsky and writer-director Don Roos, stars Kudrow as Fiona Wallice (Kudrow), a therapist of unspecified credentials who treats people via web cam and whose husband Kip may be gay. Streep plays renowned counselor Camilla Bowner who specializes in “restoring men to their natural straight state.” Camilla blames Fiona for her husband Kip’s resistance to the female form and uses everything from talk therapy, aversion therapy and ultimately her own brand of “Healing Touch” treatment to get him “back on track.”

The guest stint stems from a chance encounter between Streep and Kudrow at an event, in which Streep mentioned that she found Web Therapy funny. While the former Friends star says the complement was more than enough for her, she also asked Streep if she would want to do the show. “She said I’d love to do it, and she really did do it,” Kudrow said. Roos came up with the character of Camilla and soon Kudrow and Streep were filming scenes together. “It was heaven in every way, shape and form,” Kudrow said. “She came in with the character, she is no nimble so smart, really funny and hilarious improvising.”
