Permanent DEC employees assigned to Environmental Facilities Corporation are eligible for lateral transfer and promotional appointment to vacancies that occur in all divisions and regions.
Positions requiring a CDL (commercial driver's license) are subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991 which requires that employees be tested for alcohol and/or drug use. Candidates who receive an offer of employment will be tested on a pre-employment basis prior to starting the job.

The position(s) that are listed as "Open to Candidates That Meet the Minimum Qualifications" are for job vacancies where no viable eligible list exists or use of an eligible list is not required by law.

Section 55-b and 55-c of Civil Service Law permits the appointment of certain disabled individuals to positions that are filled by open-competitive examination where the examination is waived for the individual. The individual must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications and be able to perform the essential duties of the position.
