'The View's Ana Navarro Speculates Trump Will "Ban Black People From Halftime" After Kendrick Lamar's Performance (original) (raw)

Ana Navarro has a feeling President Donald Trump might not have liked Kendrick Lamar‘s halftime performance at the Super Bowl last night.
This morning’s episode of The View began with a debrief about the big game, which took place at the Caesars Superdome stage in New Orleans. With Trump becoming the first sitting president to ever attend a Super Bowl, Navarro — who admitted she did not watch the game — speculated that Trump might want to “ban Black people” from performing at the halftime show after seeing Lamar’s act.
“I think today Donald Trump is gonna sign an executive order banning Black people from halftime,” Navarro joked. “You remember last week we were talking about the NFL capitulating to Trump by removing the term, ‘End Racism,’ from the end zone? Boy, did they not capitulate to Trump.”
The co-host specifically gave kudos to actor Samuel L. Jackson for dressing as a “Black Uncle Sam” to introduce Lamar to the field, which was followed by an “entire formation” of Black dancers making an American flag.
“All of the Black people on my feed were like, ‘Ooo. This is blackity black black,'” Navarro said. “And all the racists who somehow get in, man, were they hopping mad. So if the racists are mad, I am happy as a clam.”

Most of all, Navarro was thrilled to see Black people being celebrated in a city like New Orleans.
“It was a huge, huge celebration of New Orleans and you can’t celebrate New Orleans without celebrating Black culture,” she said, before adding, “Welcome to Black History Month, you all!”
While Trump has yet to comment on Lamar’s halftime show, other right-wing figures have been up in arms.
“The halftime show you just watched is clearly the regime’s response to Trump’s historic gains with black men,” Matt Gaetz wrote on X, despite Lamar’s performance being announced months before Election Day. Former Rep. George Santos also wrote, “The Super Bowl Halftime show was absolute TRASH!”
