This study was designed to be an exploratory research and aimed to examine the opinion of complai... more This study was designed to be an exploratory research and aimed to examine the opinion of complainants regarding the effectiveness of district consumer redressal forum. Stratified random sampling technique was employed to collect the data from complainants of Consumer Forum situated at Civil Courts, in the Agra City of Uttar Pradesh, India. Data had been collected from 104 respondents through self-constructed questionnaire. The questionnaire comprised of 20 questions about the effectiveness of consumer forum. To analyze the effectiveness of ‘Consumer Forum‘, the statistical tools of Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Student t-test had been used. Statistical analysis of the data indicated significant differences in opinion regarding effectiveness of consumer redressal forum across different socio-demographic factors. For the present study survey method and stratified random sampling technique were employed to collect the data. Samples of 104 consumers were selected form Diwani Civil Court, situated in the Agra city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Data was collected through a self-structured questionnaire. The questionnaire comprised of 20 questions about the awareness with regard to procedural formalities of filing and pursuing complaints in consumer forum. Family is the backbone of all children and children are supposed to grow in a family setting wher... more Family is the backbone of all children and children are supposed to grow in a family setting where both mother and father plays their respective roles in providing them a sense of security and stability but when it is done single handedly it becomes quite difficult to perform up to the expectations. In recent years, there has been a sudden rise in the phenomenon of single parent families in India due to multiple factors including the influences from western society. The present article is an attempt to review the available literature on single parent families, their causal factors, strengths as well as its weaknesses. Furthermore, the positive and negative impact of single parenting on adolescent's physical, psychological, emotional, behavioral, educational and social wellbeing is also discussed in detail. Besides, this paper suggests few strategies for single parents so that they can easily manage and cope up with the difficulties they face in such situations which might be helpful in improving the wellbeing of their adolescent children.

This study was designed to assess the awareness of rural consumers regarding the legal provisions... more This study was designed to assess the awareness of rural consumers regarding the legal provisions of consumer interest. Multistage random sampling technique was employed to collect the data from rural consumers residing in the four villages of Jaswant Nagar block of Etawah District, Utt ar Pradesh. Data had been collected from 132 respondents through self-constructed questionnaire. The questionnaire was comprised of 41 questions about consumer rights and responsibilities, Quality assurance Marks, Information displayed on the products, Guarantee & Warranty, Consumer Protection Act 1986 and means of Redressal on rural infrastructure level. To analyze the awareness of rural consumers; the statistical techniques of Mean, Standard Deviation and student t-test had been used. Results indicate that the level of consumer awareness is limited in rural people. In today's changing market scenario, it is necessary to protect the rural consumers by educating about their rights and empowering them to make decisions based on information about the goods and services. Therefore, awareness has to be created among rural consumers to protect them from exploitations and unfair trade practices as well as to educate them about legal provisions which are available to protect their consumer interest.

It is well known fact that the life for everyone never remains the same; it is the combination of negatives and positives. In the similar manner, the scale of income and expenses also do not remain static for long period of time in the life cycle of any individual or family. To counter these ups and down in life, people usually save money in their rosy period with the intention to invest and make a cushion to take load of the unexpected jerks of bleak face in their life in future. By the quality of the cushion, one can make renders with relatively better or worse position to face the bad times of life; alternatively one can plan to fulfill their different financial plans with the help of investment of their savings. The financial future is largely influenced by the quality of investment decisions taken by the individual or family. Therefore such decision making is constantly taking place all around us and is an important part of family finance in every family unit. No one can avoid taking such decisions permanently.
